    Pros

Family and friendly environment Average pay Multinational exposure Good fringe benefits Lovely building

    Kontras

Used to be one of the great places to work for in Egypt, I guess it would still be good for fresh grads, as for experienced unfortunately the company stopped a while ago investing in ghe skilled calibers with no decent career progression, which led to having fat old horses all across the corners unfairly giving a negative image on the company overall, which harmed the skilled and few good calibers that used to be... there and the ones who actually built the Telecom industry in Egypt Obselete and old work processes, tools and technical capabilities made the company lag behind, and loaded staff with tons of manual tasks to get your job done I am hoping that this would change in the near future, cause I still love the company

Do repeat the same old mistakes, invest in your talented skills and shift to a young management style, others did so and this was the secret for their success

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 5 Jahren bei Orange - Vollzeit

    Pros

The Orange logo will look great on your CV The company is so big and chaotic it might be possible to hide in a corner and just draw your salary each month. You will find some great people there. The company is trying to create a good working environment, but at the moment, this has only been very selectively applied.

    Kontras

A serious lack of digital skills or understanding at senior levels. A chaotic and complex company. Lots of deadwood employees with out-of-date skills. Too many people in jobs they are not talented or skilled enough to actually to do. The IT is terrible - four year old cheapo laptops that were obsolete even when bought in four years ago! A mish-mash of unintegrated and out of date internal systems. They... talk the talk about employee empowerment but in practice, and unless you went to a few select (usually French) colleges and universities, then you're just another brick in the wall. Poor prospects of career advancement due to overstaffing in France (a legacy of the company actually being the old nationalised France Telecom with a thin veneer of Orange branding over the top) It's almost impossible for Orange to cut staff in France hence the deadwood logjam. If you don't work in France, or sales, then your career development will stall at Orange. Lots of people in jobs they have no relevant experience, skills or even aptitude for. Rigid hierarchy, especially on the French side. No salary growth - negotiate hard at the job offer stage as what you start on is what you will be getting for the next decade or more - with only small annual increases. And even these have been eroded by a deliberate policy of artificially scoring people down in their reviews - thus lowering the value of their bonus. A manager can no longer score an employee above a certain performance grade anymore, regardless of their actual performance.

    Rat an das Management

Get digital. Modernise YOUR personal digital skills. Increase your own public and digital profile - this is important or your customers will not take you seriously as digital transformation specialists. Stop talking simply about employee empowerment and make it real. Remember listening and responding - that applies to you too! Invest in better IT hardware and systems - you will never attract and retain the... right people with the woeful equipment presently on offer. This especially applies to younger talent - and they are the company's future, not the deadwood logjam of stale talent. Get a real BYOD policy, not just a lip service to it. If we don't want to use the poor quality corporate hardware on offer then at least let us use our own without so much obstruction and complexity. Put some properly skilled and experienced digital people in senior roles, rather than just always promoting sales people. Audit your employees skills and get them in roles that actually match those skills. Stop pushing people sideways into unsuitable roles - it's costing you in lost revenue, poorly spent budgets, and it's dragging down the company's productivity.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als einem Jahr bei Orange -

    Pros

Many professional people, opportunity to share experience while working with different affiliates, easy going staff, possibility to work from home if needed - work/life balance is good.

    Kontras

Kind of corrupted company in terms that if there is no one to promote you there your chances are close to zero to move forward. You won't even be invited to an interview without someone pushing your CV to your future manager. The company is so huge that no one knows what other are doing and if the same project is being done by other person too or not. This creates inconvenience while working with countries, who... complain that they are being pushed by different people from Orange Headquarter for the same topic. Many people are not sharing the information they have from past and even there are "fights" between departments regarding a project leadership. This complicates the work too much and creates stress sometimes.

    Rat an das Management

Revise company structure. Before giving a "go" to a project check if there is a unit that is already working on that project. Don't give priority to your friends or children of your friends while promoting people - this demotivates other team members a lot.
