    Frankly, there used to be many when I joined, but now I wouldn't list any other than a paycheck and having Okta on your resume as currency for getting your next, better, higher title job. Also, ask most employees and they'll tell you privately they predict 70/30 that the Okta Board will take an acquisition offer vs. going IPO. Despite the CEO saying he wants to be an independent company, don't count on it when... he's staring at a several hundred million dollar payout for himself and the Board is looking at over a billion total.

    If you're in Sales, think twice. The Sales Operations team will consistently try reneging on commission and "re-interpret" your documented and previously agreed to Sales commission plan to avoid paying you what you earned. It's exhausting to answer to mid- and low-level people and constantly re-justify why you are entitled to what your Sales commission plan clearly states you are entitled to. This has eroded... confidence in many in Sales and there has been an atypical amount of voluntary attrition lately, with good sellers leaving. The only reason Okta is doing well is because of the Sellers, because the Product team hasn't innovated or delivered on anything that's moving the company forward in over two years. The sellers are also the reason Okta hasn't had its business completely eaten by Microsoft, because there's nothing in the product that can't be done by Microsoft more cheaply and at greater scale. If you join Sales, be sure you have a strong manager who will stand up for you.

    Rat an das Management

    Remind the Sales Ops team that they serve the Sales organization, not the other way around. The relationship is very upside-down with them always asserting their dominance and throwing up obstacles to getting deals done. The Product team needs new leadership. It's beyond broken, the fact that we're not *the* leader in vision on the latest MQ proves it. What are you waiting for?

    Pros

    Disruptive technology which resonates with customers. There is a big need for the technology of Okta. All employees are working hard on the company ethics of customer first. Making customers successful is the highest driver here internally and the results are there. Very open culture which is created by the executives. Helping each other achieving the goals is a daily practice. Happy employees you'll find... here.
