Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei Morton Salt (mehr als ein Jahr)

    Pros

    Good location downtown.
Laid back office / jeans / casual dress.
    Good food in cafeteria.
    Free snacks.

    Kontras

Management paints rosy picture yet things get worse and worst by the week.
Most employees are frustrated and looking for jobs.
Shaping 2030 is a fancy word for job cuts - many rumors about jobs that will be cut and moved to corporate office in Germany.
Hiring freeze prevents people needed to do work - so the rest of us have more to do.
    Most are overworked and underappreciated.
Plants cannot meet supply chain demand numbers so we rarely meet sales goals. Customers are all mad. Every day is a battle.

    Rat an das Management

Many senior people are book smart but do not actually know how to solve problems. So nothing gets fixed. Replace these people with others who know how to get work done and fix problems.

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei Morton Salt (mehr als ein Jahr)

    Pros

Great people wanting to do the right thing but still need the structure and processes in place to succeed. New work from home policy allows most personnel to work at least one day a week from home. Lots of recognition for your work. Most senior leaders are very down to earth and genuine about improving the business and overall culture.

    Kontras

Lots of processes still need to be put in place. People want to get things implemented too quickly without synergy with other functions. Lots of organizational changes over the last year causing disruption and stresses for operations and corporate office.

    Rat an das Management

Drive standardization across the functions and ensure changes are communicated early and often with key stakeholders and inform others indirectly related as well.

    Pros

Good pay for small town production locations

    Kontras

Unstable, downhill slide over the last several years

    Rat an das Management

Value your employees. Value experience. Instead of looking for employees that stick around 2-3 years, hold on to the experience with 20-30 years.

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei Morton Salt (Über 10 Jahre)

    Pros

It’s centrally located downtown by the River walk.

    Kontras

Horrible place to work. Toxic environment where people will smile in your face and stab in your chest and back while you are talking to them. Management uses favoritism as a work style. Hard workers are rewarded with an excessive amounts of work while others can work from home whenever they choose. If you are not apart of the favoritism group than expect people to treated you like a criminal with condescending attitudes. Meetings are dispirited. The culture is very toxic. You can discuss grievances with Human Resources but no changes will improve the vile people’s behaviors. Human Resources and upper management is the problem the environment is so hostile. If you want to work at place where you are overworked, under appreciated, character defamed and belittled than this is the right place for you.

    Rat an das Management

Treat all employees with respect and not like replaceable objects.

Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei Morton Salt

    Pros

There used to be a few, I cannot think of any now.

    Kontras

Management and German parent company. Some how while the rest of American business prosper, we are having the worst year ever.

    Rat an das Management

Stop hiring smart people and ignoring them. Start listening to the smart people, thats why you hired them.

Ich habe in Vollzeit bei Morton Salt gearbeitet (mehr als ein Jahr)

    Pros

Good location in the loop. If you like being micromanaged by inexperienced managers and belittled this is the place for you.

    Kontras

Too many to list. All levels of management have their favorites. Ive seen upper management react in such an unprofessional way on many occasions. No appreciation for those who work hard and have experience. Its all about what looks good for management. This place is a complete joke. Employees are treated unfairly. Don’t bother going to HR they do nothing.

    Rat an das Management

Listen and appreciate your employees and get rid of managers who should have lawsuits for demeaning employees.

    Pros

Iconic name that will help you find a way out. The 401k is competitive.

    Kontras

Unrealistic expectations set by parent company. If you aren’t at the corporate office you are viewed as less than. Check out the corporate holiday party versus what goes on at the sites. You could also look at the turnover in HR from the top down. Management runs people off and then the CEO wonders why they get terrible reviews.

    Rat an das Management

At the facility level stop looking to blame people for your failure to produce. The truth is K+S has put everyone in a position to fail and the CEO allows it. Stick together and actually try to be a team in the face of awful executive management. The culture is terrible and it starts at the top. Hopefully K+S sells Morton to a company who understands this business and knows how to treat people.
