    Pay is fine and benefits are ok.

    Kontras

    Not much work life balance. It's senior mgmt way only - recommendations/suggestions not welcome.

    Not all requests need to be due "yesterday" and not all global process change requests can be completed in half day.

    Pros

    Good people who want to do the right thing. Recent acquisition could be a opportunity to leave the recession type mentality and grow ( they will probably mess that up too).

    CEO is a micromanager who makes ALL the decisions. The CEO lives in a pretentious environment. Middle management does not want to disclose how things really are to CEO or executive team due to retribution. The model is to cut everything except the CEO's salary which is far higher than companies five times MTI's size....and they are growing. No work/life balance.

    CEO and his model need to go. One cannot successfully run a company based off a 1982 recession model.....unless success is defined as the person with the highest income wins.

    Outside of senior management, MTI folks are great people

    Kontras

    This company is not focused on growth, they are focused on money and budget cuts. No top line growth, just slashing expenses. CEO Joe Muscari is involved in every single decision and doesn't make good ones at that. His salary is astronomical yet he still feels that employees under him should be over worked and underpaid. No work life balance. Definitely ruined AMCOL once acquired.

    Upper management needs to get rid of Joe or stop following his model of slashing everything and not looking for top line growth.

    Great people, Very professional company. Laid back atmosphere. Allowed to work independently. Management knew their stuff.

    Kontras

    Office I worked at was in bad shape - old, small,dirty. Raises were rare and there were some old timers employed who were a little too secure in their jobs to actually do anything other than babysit a desk.

    Pros

    Has some incredible employees who have high work ethics and personal values. That holds the company together right now. Due to such low staffing levels wide amounts of experience in broad areas. If you are a workaholic that doesnt mind having nothing outside of work this is a good company for you

    Little to No work lilfe balance. CEO way too involved in small details. Very top down driven organization, CEO at the heart of virtually every decision. Many road blocks to rapid decisions.

    Get your heads out of the sand and find out what is really happening in the company. The senior managment group only sees things the way they want them to be regardless of reality.

    Although it is not a Fortune company, it does have international presence. It is a good place to gain global experience.

    Mostly depends on your boss. If you have a good boss then it is not bad to work here. If not...

    Pros

    Due to the lean staffing, an employee will find that they can assume some interesting projects. Lots of challenge. Pay and benefits are good to above average.

    Kontras

    Lots of cost and staff cuts Some employees work hard. Others just show up. Pay and benefits over the past 15 years have been super! Lots of employee benefit cuts over the past 2 years. Proxy does not seem to show that executive level benefits are being cut however.

    Most of the change, including the push with lean is good. Some employees long for the old days of Pfizer. Ignore those and do what's right. Be careful not to cut too much.
