Ich habe weniger als ein Jahr bei Keap als Vollzeit gearbeitet

    Pros

    Good solution for small businesses.

    Kontras

The company is growing at a rapid pace and management doesn't know how to handle it (deer in a headlights). Too many people in management not knowing how to run a software company which led to them closing an entire office, laying off 26 people.

    Rat an das Management

It's better to tell the truth about what's going on within the company, rather than lie to your employees telling them the company is moving in the right direction then turn around and close an entire office, laying off over 25 people...all within 3 months.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 3 Jahren bei Keap (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Great employees, great benefits, squashing small business failure one company at a time, great top level leaders, ideas are taken seriously, I feel heard and inspired to be better. Great company to work for!

    Kontras

Lots of change but that's to be expected after a rebrand. We will get there though, the mission is big but it's worth it.

    Rat an das Management

Keep on keeping on! Love all the new brains and ideas we got running around here!

Ich arbeite seit weniger als einem Jahr bei Keap als Vollzeit

    Pros

Strong and caring culture where executives manage through encouragement vs. fear. A passionate group of individuals that want to see the company succeed in growing the business. Competitive salary with good health benefits. A flexible work schedule. Unlimited vacation which gives associates more ownership of their everyday.

    Kontras

Has seen a lot of change lately as the company pivots to a new brand and more diversified product strategy. For people who like moving fast, it's great. For people who want more stability, it may not be as helpful.

    Rat an das Management

Continue to invest in the right people and take calculated risks to move the business forward

Ich habe für mehr als 8 Jahre bei Keap gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

The best part of any organization is the people you work with, then the culture, then the benefits. This organization still has a few good people left.

    Kontras

Executive level - Our CEO was the best part of the company but has been consistently absent for many years. Other execs came from Intuit and are trying to run the company as Intuit does, it’s not working. VP Level Leadership - it seems that there are few that care anymore and seem to be looking for other opportunities (lots of turnover and disgruntled directors/managers) Director Level - because of poor leadership... from VPs they don’t really seem to move the needle and get the right things done. Some infrequent pressure and then surprises when it comes time for quarterly reviews. Ethics from the top: When the company is not performing, the people team will put heat on its leaders to give lower scores so they can pay a lower annual bonus. There is a right way to do this and a wrong way, they often do not choose a great way to communicate and often judge unfairly to justify paying a lower bonus. When sales are down, the blame seems to be put on the direct sales department and the customer success department but not focused on marketing and product. Culture: Go tour the company and notice all of the blank screens, timing out from people taking extended breaks or coming in after business hours. Show up again at 4pm and notice how many people leave early without laptops in hand. Notice that when you pass by people how many seem happy or just feel it is a job that they show up for and collect a paycheck. The company has reduced incentives and benefits consistently over the years, as well as reduced what they are paying their employees. The promises of ownership are only valuable when the company is winning. And the company has not been winning for many years. Employees are feeling that and the weight is heavy. In summary, the culture at Keap is just like any other company with an HR department. Execs make a lot of promises during company meetings on how great things will be (“so please hold on”) but product often fails to hit targets and deadlines. Then they take away another perk. Then another layoff. The marketing team is very small and direct sales frequently misses goals due to few new leads. Employees across the company are not well connected to the software anymore. The PMs will collect feedback and do almost nothing with it. The COO gets his ideas (and the ideas of his leadership team) prioritized over other valuable projects without proper vetting. Projects get done faster by politicking at Keap, instead of prioritized based on true customer needs. There are still some great people there. I have made life long friends. Most of these great people have moved on to greener pastures, and there are a lot of them (greener pastures) out there.

    Rat an das Management

Reconnect with your people and practice the leadership model created in the 2013 era. Reconnect with customers and make data driven decisions, get rid of hierarchical bullies who’s projects get in the way and waste valuable time and resources. Hire top performers and let them help you lead the company to success. Hire and fire to core values, not the new ones, they don’t resonate with people like the old ones did.... Go back to basics. Don’t make promises you can’t keep. Don’t oversell the new software. Sell it for what it is and price it accordingly until you can justify higher prices. Keep up with tech and realize your place, not what you perceive as your place but what customers are saying about the software and service. Know your competition and keep up with them. If you can’t do these things, sell the company to someone who can.

Ich arbeite seit weniger als einem Jahr bei Keap als Vollzeit

    Pros

Exceptional culture, positive vibes, fun environment, incredibly smart and talented people in the org, providing a product that you can genuinely feel good about.

    Kontras

There has been a lot of shifting over the past 6 months or so. While it can feel uneasy on the surface, if you look forward at the big picture, the company is positioning itself for tremendous success going forward.

    Rat an das Management

Continue to be transparent to the entire company. Keep driving in the direction of success. Don't forget about the people, culture, and qualities that makes this company so wonderful to be a part of.

Ich habe für mehr als ein Jahr bei Keap gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

    Freebies, good benefits.

    Kontras

Corporate environment. Used to be a laid back, relaxed environment, now it is very draconian and needlessly harsh. A lot of foolish rules about talking to people that are supposedly members of the same department, albeit in a higher position. If you're over 50, don't plan to hang your hat anytime soon.

    Rat an das Management

Go back to thinking of your people as people, not resources to be used up and tossed aside. Have empathy for your employees. Avoid talking down to them and stop lying.

Ich habe für mehr als 5 Jahre bei Keap gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Probably the best thing about this place was the opportunity to grow. Fast paced and challenging environments will give you the chance to level up, or level out.

    Kontras

Complete loss of cultural identity, out of touch with the CARE component of leadership model, recent low performance is more so an inability to set accurate goals and poor planning of annual priorities without the means to hit those targets.

    Rat an das Management

50% yoy growth doesn't happen because you set that as a goal on a spreadsheet and drive everyone like dogs to achieve. It happens because people are inspired and giving you everything they have because they believe in the Cause. Because they feel a part of the vision. Because they have individual purpose.

Ich habe bei Keap gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Started off amazing. The culture was fun, and engaging. People genuinely cared about their staff, and their career success.

    Kontras

I noticed a sharp uptick in employees leaving the business, and this raised some concern. Layoff ensued and now it seems the business forgot what drew their talent in the first place.

    Rat an das Management

Know what is happening on the ground floor. You have a pool of great talent, and many that genuinely care that the business is successful. Instead panicking and following the course of other poorly performing business by laying great peers off, be the trendsetter that looks at cutting the real unnecessary expenses, and save the talent that is performing triage to prevent the business from sinking.

We appreciate your insightful feedback. And we do acknowledge that the company has been going through some course corrections recently, which can be unsettling for some. After all, change is scary. And yes, that has resulted in higher than normal attrition over the past few months, ...
