Ich arbeite seit mehr als 5 Jahren bei JetBlue (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Plenty of opportunity for career growth if that is what you are striving for. Also great options for work from home opportunities in most Salt Lake and Orlando positions, but not all. Good Benefits. The company really does try to stay true to their core values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun!

    Kontras

Working nights, weekends, holidays and code red (mandatory overtime) can be tough, especially when you are starting out and bottom of seniority. But this is necessary as the airline business is a 24/7 operation.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 3 Jahren bei JetBlue (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Decent pay, flight benefits, Jetblue Scholars (which is currently delayed and many are on a waitlist due to budget restraints, and increased interest), good medical coverage with reasonably priced premiums, 401k match + 5% (you contribute 5%, Jetblue contributes 5% to match PLUS an additional 5% = 15% total), benefits such as Healthy Mom and Happy Baby programs along with medical, plus Healthy Rewards dollars to... earn a good chunk of your deductible. Overall, great company to work for.

    Kontras

Downsides are 24/7 and 365 day operation. Flight benefits are nice, but standby can be stressful and overwhelming. No tuition reimbursement, just JetBlue Scholars which currently has many on a waitlist. Decent pay, though not competitive amongst other companies nearby.

Ich habe für mehr als 3 Jahre bei JetBlue gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

    - The people you work with do whatever they can to get things done. - Fellow Crewmembers share a common goal. - Flight benefits are good when you can use them.

    Kontras

Despite a great culture, the leadership at JetBlue plays nothing but favorites. Crewmembers are told they need to forge their own path forward and to make yourself marketable. This is impossible to do when Crewmembers are promoted based on who they know, who stays out the latest and what project you're on. Trainings and advancement opportunities are evasive. For example, they have a POL program (Principles of... Leadership) and even though some may solidly demonstrate these skills, you are only allowed to attend the program if you have "manager" in your title. The Digital team constantly falls over their own feet. Leadership loves to demean and belittle Crewmembers who show initiative (unless again, you're part of t his exclusive group). Crewmembers who work in Salt Lake City (reservation agents) work full time at home unless they've abused their privileges. IT Crewmembers are afforded 1 day a week even if you've been on a call in the middle of the night because someone can't print a boarding pass or book a reservation. During overnight deployments they are pretty good not "requiring" Crewmembers to be in the office right away but it means a lot to them if you do show up. So much information is siloed into individual Cremwmbers so if that person goes on vacation, you end up being screwed if you need anything relevant to their area. Flight benefits are nice but to make it part of your overall compensation is ignorant. If you have relatives or family it's often tricky to fly anywhere.

    Rat an das Management

Promote from within but keep the integrity value. This has been missing from JetBlue for so many years. There are people in management who have no place being there. The quarterly offsites just show how much favoritism there is. You'll get promoted faster if you work on revenue generating projects.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 8 Jahren bei JetBlue (Vollzeit)

    Pros

The culture at JetBlue is great. You will enjoy going to work based on the people you work with. There is flexibility with some positions and they will try their best to ensure you are satisfied with your role.

    Kontras

Processes and procedures are overly gray and will frustrate you. The focus is solely on the customer and improvements to internal tech to better support your role is incredibly difficult to attain.

Ich habe für mehr als 10 Jahre bei JetBlue gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Flight Benefits and location of the office

    Kontras

Everything other than flight benefits. The culture in the Salt Lake office is horrible. I worked there for over 11 years and it was 11 years too long. The culture preaches "we are a family" yet when it comes down to it, they don't have your back. I watched them turn on people time and time again. It is mainly run by a bunch of uneducated women who don't know the first thing about business outside of JetBlue... because they were all bred from with in the organization. It's like permanently being in high school. They smile to your face yet organize behind your back. Don't even get me started on the work life balance. There is none. They expect you to give them everything you have. Between mandatory overtime and activities outside of work hours there is a huge commitment that if broken you will be penalized.

Hire from outside the company to get a more diverse work force. Your customer support center leaders are a joke.

    Pros

    Nice people. Flight benefits.

    Kontras

Very limited growth unless you're "popular". Favoritism ...Favoritism ....Favoritism Low pay. That's why ppl (even leadership) leave the company.

    Rat an das Management

multiple departments need better leadership. a lot of the manager and above can get that position because they stayed in the company forever.

Ich habe für mehr als 3 Jahre bei JetBlue gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Free flight perks, exposure to the inner workings of a Fortune 500 company.

    Kontras

Where do I start...JetBlue was a great company, they kicked out the original CEO and founder in 2007, then in 2015 they kicked out the 2nd CEO (also a founder) and ditched humanity to pursue brown-nosing to Wall St. JetBlue lost focus of showering customers with that enjoyable travel experience they once pioneered, and also slipped in their appreciation of the precious resource that built their Brand, the... Crewmembers. In pursuit of the greenback, JetBlue is trending towards charging for almost everything, like all other airlines, which is counter to what set them apart in the Early days.

    Rat an das Management

Sweet talk Wall St to keep them quiet, but focus on what really matters (dare I say like Southwest Airlines), focus on making your employees happy and in turn they will make the customers happy, which in turn will make your shareholders happy. Recognize the high turnover rate, it should be a metric on the Quarterly earnings calls, and put the focus back where it belongs, the employees and the customers, Wall St will... be just fine.
