    Mit der Express-Expansion ist die deutsche Gesellschaft hoffnungslos überfordert. Es ist schade, das Loyalität zwar gefordert, jedoch von oberster Stelle nicht eingehalten wird. Wie kann man Pünktlichkeit und Überstunden fordern, wenn man ein Meeting 45 Minuten verspätet anfängt? Als Führungskraft musst du ein dickes Fell haben, dann passt es. Und vielleicht ist es in ein paar Monaten sogar super, wenn das... Management ausgetauscht ist.

    Rat an das Management

    Die Angst, das man betrogen wird, ist wohl immer sehr groß. Aber bitte vertraut denjenigen die ihr einstellt. Oder stellt sie bitte erst gar nicht ein. Mit Micromanagen ist noch keiner erfolgreich geworden.

    Decent discount and increases 5% extra every 5 years of service but is capped. Good, new exclusive product to work with and sell. Great technology devices to help you in your job.

    You can write Christmas off with your family, you're expected to work 12-14 hours Christmas eve and dont leave until the sale preparations are complete. You are overworked, stressed to the max and hate JD at Christmas. You're then back in 8AM boxing day and don't get a day off until new years eve or day. Lack of management on the area meaning at times you're doing full days on your own. No progression unless you... commit to moving to a mega store where you basically work way over your contracted hours for free. (10-11 hours a day!) Great for those that have no life outside of work and wish to get mugged off. Have to listen to the same music hour after hour, day after day months on end. Senior personnel from head office treat you like the enemy, very little praise & too much focus on finding issues rather than what you are doing well and right. Not only that but you are always ignored. Don't pay the staff enough including management. Making it increasingly harder to hit quarterly bonuses. There is a new KPI every other month which you have to perform on. Impossible to book holiday straight away, have to wait months on end for approval so cant book holidays way in advance. Have to work every Saturday unless booked off. We sponsor many football teams/boxing matches yet never see any free tickets to attend. No incentive for the staff to sell extra products. No commission, just an employee of the month for the entire area with a gift card loaded with £50 on. Never saw an e-mail from the Chairman to stores wishing a Happy Christmas, does he even care about his workforce? Hello PETER??! Now owning JD Gyms we only get half price discount, other companies offer this for free when they don't even have their own gym chain. Have to provide the best possible service to some of the most vile human beings on the planet. You have to work 1 week per years service notice period to obtain a reference if you leave. Communication from head office is poor, you'll receive window POS one day and they expect you to drop everything and do it that very same day AFTER trade, do have to cancel your plans because they've not give advance notice. Everything has to be done AFTER trade, do customers think the window fairy does it in the middle of the night??

    Rat an das Management

    When you visit stores, management shouldn't fear you! Dont speak to us like scum, where is the teamwork? We are all here to achieve the same thing! To make the company a success. Give managers/assistants 1 weekend off per month. Reward your teams better! Provide free gym memberships to your JD Gyms. Dont just make everything a tick box.

    Staff discount after passing trial Quick progression to management for those who work hard and prove themselves Good salary and quarterly bonus scheme (once you hit all KPIs) for Store Managers and Assistant Managers. Great learning curve. If you can successfully manage a JD store you can do anything! Excellent pt Xmas temp job for students with no experience but you must work hard for minimum wage and have... thick skin. Entitled to an extra days holiday after 2 years, another after 3 and another after 4

    Very long hours, extremely fast paced, poor work life balance even compared to other retailers. NO social events/ Christmas parties, etc- Tight company! No pension, VHI, bike to work scheme. Stressful working environment, unrealistic expectations given the budgets Managers have to work with, not suited to all. High turnover of management and staff. Very little support from Sometimes Micro managed by Area... Manager, Head Office, VM department. Head Office based in UK so no opportunities in Ireland to move from store level. No store security (only at Xmas) which means management and staff put themselves in danger regularly. Constant extreme pressure from Profit Protection department who make you feel responsible for every loss and discipline you. (Fear mongering attititude) The company has no interest in participating in charity work or giving back to communities. All it cares about is profits. Christmas at JD Sports is hell on earth.

    Rat an das Management

    Put security in stores to take the pressure off Store Management team and staff. Increase budgets in line with store takings so that staff and management aren't having to do 3 peoples jobs at once. The Management Academy doesn't work. Better training needed, base more courses in Ireland. You're losing great employees/ managers because you're not listening to their concerns or supporting them when they need it.... Acknowledge those who work hard and reward them accordingly.

    Fast paced environment with quick progression for staff. Good bonus scheme, loads of support for new managers

    Long days, can be extremely demanding during peak trade. All the better to learn from!

    Invest more in managers who have been loyal to the company over the years. Review staff pay and look at introducing new strategies to engage staff all round

    Great opportunities to progress if you work hard.

    Antisocial hours, no two days off allowed together, very strict environment. The company is a bit unorganized when it comes with SALE/ OFFERS prep - very short notice given, end up working crazy long hours.

    The company should organize social events for employees. Everyone works extremely hard and such events could improve company culture. Why not make "The most wanted company to work for" just by adding well-deserved fun?

    Honestly not many pros, the pay wasn't bad as advertised, but when you consider the amount of hours you're required to work the pay per hour is pretty shocking

    Ruthless company, both managers before me were forced out or left for similar reasons a shocking work life balance - and i felt the same, dawned on me at 1:30am when I was preparing a sale that I wasn't given any support and my hourly rate was something south of £2p/h.
