    Pros

Great people, and great tools. Offers a wide variety of projects.

    Kontras

Hard to climb the ladder here. Salary feels low vs. experience.

    Rat an das Management

Step up and reward people even if they aren't quite veterans at Insomniac yet. We are losing people after Spider-Man for a reason...

    Pros

You'll get to work on some great games. Some very talented folks work at Insomniac. Fairly flat organization. CEO (Ted Price) really cares about the company and making great games. He's very approachable, even being in a QA entry level position, I had a couple of discussions about the game we were working on with him.

    Kontras

Crunch is very common. Can hit 70+ hours a week when key deadlines are near. Low pay for QA. In QA the hiring approach is more about hiring a lot of folks, instead of hiring the best people.

    Rat an das Management

Leverage better planning and project management over regular intense crunch. Move pay more in-line with the current industry average.

    Pros

Good CEO and company founders. Great facilities. Good team of talented developers. Mostly good leads. Great tools for in house. Independent and owns most IPs. Good publisher relationship. Great team culture.

    Kontras

Direction team are not as strong as the rest of the developers or the company founders. Large project management team which is about 70% useful but with some key figures who don't contribute. Lack of focus and willingness to listen to the team. This is a major problem and causes large amounts of wasted work. The direction team micro manages instead of focusing on clear direction and documentation of the project as... a whole. Poor accountability at direction level. Slow to hire new talent. Poor pay/bonus.

    Rat an das Management

Focus on training the direction team on giving solid direction and taking responsibility for teams failings rather than blaming them. Hire less contract roles and more full time staff. Improve links to universities and find ways to hire faster.

    Pros

Terrific workplace, fantastic benefits, great people. CEO cares about everyone. Good projects. Amazing work / life balance --- yes there are busy times, but you won't find many places with that balance ingrained into the culture like this.

    Kontras

Haven't really been able to deliver a true hit in years. Sort of a lack of vision for how to get back to those PS2 years. Focus scattered with so many projects. Spider-Man could change that.

    Pros

Everyone contributes ideas, good variety of work, big games without huge teams, everyone is incredibly driven.

    Kontras

Pace can be extremely fast, management sometimes gets in the weeds too much without seeing the big picture.

    Pros

Good people, interesting projects, creative atmosphere

    Kontras

Poor project planning, long crunch periods, no employee growth

    Rat an das Management

Be more willing to take creative risks and do not panic when things don't go as planned.

Ich habe bei Insomniac Games gearbeitet ()

    Pros

Laid back culture and communication is very open. Free lunch on Fridays and a loaded kitchen. Fun projects and great people to work with.

    Kontras

No advancement opportunities since Titles released never make money. Favoritism happens in certain departments. An employee who is on contract will be singled out in reviews for negative behaviors yet full time employees get away with it and are not punished. No feedback from management on things that need improvement so you're ambushed during year end reviews. Contract employees not treated equal to full time... employees at times. Too much overtime and it is often not needed.

    Mehr anzeigen

    Rat an das Management

Treat contract employees equally and don't let your full time employees get away with behavoirs you won;t stand for with contract employees.

  10. „Good place”

    SternSternSternSternStern

Ich arbeite bei Insomniac Games ()

    Pros

Stable with good people. Smaller company with not a ton of growth opportunities. Fair and care about employees. Good place.

    Kontras

Limited growth potential, working on lots of separate projects under limited time frames, not much time or space for innovation.

    Rat an das Management

Focusing on reuse while important has reduced opportunities for growth and innovation.
