    Good company , room to grow. Good vendor events, lots to learn

    Kontras

    Politics and favouritism. Rep in my team who underperformed and customer kept escalating about her.instead of firing her was promoted Into marketing. There is no integrity if you voice out be sure to be in the lay off list. Performance really doesn't matter.

    Great if you want to stay in the same role forever. Not for someone who actually wants to advance their career. You'll be happy up until mid-level, but anything beyond that and Ingram will prioritize outside hires over internal promotions by way of weird on-paper job requirements. Ingram has a lot byzantine HR rules in place to make it difficult to impossible to advance yourself or even change departments. They... assign jobs a number grade, and then tweak every department so just enough grades are non-assigned that any lateral move becomes either a demotion or an unrealistic multi-level jump. Even ENTRY LEVEL field jobs list field experience as a mandatory requirement, so HR won't even let tenured inside employees interview for them half the time. To go from inside to outside, on paper, you will find it easier to quit and return. Which has become a very popular career path in the building, leading to a revolving door of sorts.

    Great perks such as an on-site fitness center. A lot of team building exercises which is actually fun.

    Everyone spends too much time patting themselves in their backs about the business that was handed to them. The upper management have no real world selling experience because they tend to hire people straight out of college, underpay them which in the long run hurts the business. They need to bring in people with experience not just a college degree.

    The workplace itself fits the fresh graduates. Less smokers, less gimmicks. The place where it resides is far from toxicity.

    The PAYROLL TEAM. They are not as consistent as to giving pay. They always make mistakes in computing my pay.

    Trainings, Incentives, Computer Skill Set ( Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint ) enhancement through constant use, opportunities for lateral moves and/or growth in other depts ,ie; Marketing, Vendor Management

    Poor mid level management, disconnect between "Troops on the front lines " and what management perceives. Belief in what management established sales goals and what is achievable is unrealistic.

    There are as many sales personalities / styles as there are sales staff. Try to recognize , support and empower all, not just the most boisterous/ favorite contributors.

    Great place for work experience in the distribution business and a great place to socialise with other IT related companies.

    Like most USA companies the whole focus is on the almighty dollar and quarterly share holder reports. As a result there was no loyalty to hardworking, successful staff and a large number of restructures and redundancies over the years reflect that attitude. They don't pay very well either. This advice is dated so I can only hope it has improved.

    You get the experience of working with a industry leading company, share and collaborate with top professionals and gain the knowledge to advance your career.

    Kontras

    Not a lot of opportunity for advancement. It's really about who you know not what you know. Ingram's Williamsville office lack diversity, not only in management but in general.
