Ich habe für mehr als 3 Jahre bei Ingram Micro gearbeitet ()

    Pros

Access to many vendors and great place to start your career if you want to get into IT sales

    Kontras

Worst management what they care about is management, worst product management and order processing most of the time you are chasing orders and providing ETAs to the customers

    Rat an das Management

Stop chasing numbers and focus more on back end processes, stop having multiple forecast calls with the sales and let them focus on sales

Ich arbeite seit mehr als einem Jahr bei Ingram Micro (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Workplace flexibility Variety of vendors and range New Sydney Office Opportunity's within the business

    Kontras

Internal challenges with other areas of the business due to structures. Lack of reward and recognition for achievements. Staff morale in some areas is low due to sudden redundancies. Low salary for some roles in comparison to the rest of the market. Minimal staff training.

    Rat an das Management

Remove business centre model. Make lodgement of expenses less of a challenge. Purchase more parking for the site. Add transparent structures around renumeration and promotion. Invest in more internal company events for greater social synergy. Staff training courses from accredited providers would be beneficial.

Ich habe für mehr als 5 Jahre bei Ingram Micro gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Felt like a part of something big Enjoyed working with some great people Great products

    Kontras

Adelaide office cut from 18 odd staff to 5 in a matter of 'minutes' Eventually stopped caring about staff in other states apart from NSW and VIC

    Rat an das Management

As usual, upper management need to start caring about their staff rather than just 'feathering their own nest'

Ich habe für mehr als 10 Jahre bei Ingram Micro gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

There are some incredible leaders in upper management, unfortunately they are not the standard or the majority. I did have the pleasure of working for a phenomenal leader for 5 years, but I've also worked for VP's that could barely operate a laptop. The compensation can be fantastic, but it depends on when you are hired. If it was prior to the acquisition, you likely are better off from a salary standpoint than... if you were hired by Ingram - Ingtam is notorious for low pay. But again, if you have the right boss finally you can make a great salary with great incentives. The company has a great local presence and supports a large number of charities, and volunteering is always encouraged which is fantastic. There is also a gym on site that you can pay to use but if you use it frequently you basically get your money back, that's a great incentive.

    Kontras

Ever since the company was puchased by Ingram Micro everything has gone downhill. The old BrightPoint culture prior to the acquisition of BP by INGRAM was best in class - but when BrightPoint was purchased we lost our best asset - our President (never have I met a more honest, forward thinking, intelligent, and genuine man, who was invested in every single employee in the company). Unfortunately he resigned, and... since that day the company has become a lousy place to work. HR is a joke as someone else stated. Do not trust HR, they are dishonest and serve no purpose except to try and keep employees from sueing upper management for illegal activities. If you file a complaint with HR you might as well turn in your two week notice immediately. They state there is a "no retaliation policy" and that could not be farther from the truth. If you go to HR about any upper level employee you can expect to be let go. As someone else mentioned previously, the CEO did state the company needed to make up for a 10 million dollar loss and that was done by a massive reduction in force (layoffs) and they continue to let people go as needed. They're always rumors of outsourcing entire departments to different countries. If you are female - do not expect to ever be promoted above a manager. If you are not part of the boys club, you can expect that you will never move up within the company. Because of the constant push to reduce costs I would ever suggest applying for a position with INGRAM MICRO MOBILITY (at this time, fall 2015), you would be the first to get fired and there would be no job security.

    Rat an das Management

It is imperative to find a way to make HR a resource employees can use and feel confident that the information they share will be kept confidential. Start being honest, and address the elephant in the room....employee satisfaction is at an all time low and that is because the constant lies from the executive leadership team. This has caused uncertainty among employees, a lot of the company's best talent has left... simply because they do not know what is going on with the structure and organization of the company. My advice would be start being honest, find employees that you lost that were huge contributors, and again always tell the truth even if it's not what the workforce would like to hear.

Ich habe für mehr als ein Jahr bei Ingram Micro gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

most of the key people are non competent n if you are smart you can fool them easily

    Kontras

Training from ingram and support from coworkers is terrible. No initial training provided, then they penalize the employees for not knowing the system. No one knows what Ingram micro is until a few months into the job because every process is very different. They hire and lay off constantly!. The minute you get a job at Ingram, start looking for your next one. Compensation for the work they require is relatively... low. This makes it a challenge for them to keep decent individuals in non management roles. Ingram Micro is trying to get maximum output with minimum expense and it makes it extremely difficult for overburdened people to do well with everything that is expected from them. Unfortunately they keep taking easy way out every time IT industry gets into a slump by either laying off, eliminating random positions, or restructuring the pay structure (which always seems to hit the pockets of their beloved employees). Most of the good talent is long gone and what talent is left or unexpectedly coming is wasted in documentation type work due to the process. Constant worry of job security destroyed the moral of organisation. Ingram Micro customer demands the office to be staffed on holidays and it results in people working on Eid, Diwali and Christmas that's too without any compensation management will treat you as if you are a robot by expecting the most hours and efficiency from you with no regard to your pay, family, work-life balance. the company doesn't care about employee health. Management would rather get you sick and die than spend a little more money on your care and well being. Look at other options before work here.

    Pros

Can be good fun and dependant on the role you will have quite a bit of freedom to organize your sales strategy as you see fit. Always lots of orders being processed.

    Kontras

Political in-fighting. Compensation rates for most roles is poor. Leadership varies from the inspiring to the de-motivating. Regular changes of strategic direction.

    Rat an das Management

Set a strategy. Agree the proposition and deliver the proposition. Accept what you can do and build on it. Don't make propositions you can't deliver - the client will always find out.
