    Pros

    - Pay (if you know your market value)
    - Work life balance, highly respected here
    - Not many jerks, people are generally respectful
    - Company holiday parties
    - Branded 'swag'

    Let me preface this with say that this experience is specific to the NY office. It does not speak to the experiences at the west coast offices or Canada.

    There is ego, after ego, after ego— especially in the NY office. You can walk down a very narrow hallway going in the opposite direction of a fellow employee and they will completely ignore your presence. I’ve never experience a company culture like this in my life.

    Much like another commenter said, your experience here is entirely dependent upon your team. And on my team, our responsibilities were always in flux. Cross collaboration amongst my own team was almost non-existent. People at this company are knowledge hoarders and will actively undermine your attempt at seeking the resources you need.

    Diversity and representation are odd here, in that some teams have vibrant diversity while others are blindingly yt. When it comes to senior leadership, its 80% yt and male.

    The direction this company is heading in is also questionable, there seems to be no real focus and consistency in our long term goals.

    I honestly don't really know. The issues this company face are so nuanced that I would struggle to find the answers myself. All I can say is that this culture is not sustainable and have the markers of becoming toxic.

    * Work-life balance is great now. There were problems before but now are long gone.

    * Flexible hours

    * No toxic office culture, young atmosphere.

    * Managers are nice and knowledgeable, lots of support

    * Lots of people to learn from, great diversity

    * Transparency, frequent internal AMAs with senior management, open doors policy

    * Frequent events, weekly paid recreational activities off site (soccer field, volleyball etc)

    Pros

    I have a fairly long job history so I'm not a first time worker. I've also worked in a variety of fields from not for profits to finance and startups. I'm not upper management. I state this all because this is by far the only company I have worked for where my experience and skills were uniquely valued. I am listened to and respected and that to be the case across the board. IX truly values people's skill sets and empowers everyone to use them for the betterment of the company as a whole. They also intrinsically value individual time. It's about getting the work done efficiently and well, not so much about eating, sleeping and living here. The mental toll of being always on doesn't exist here. Get your work done and you're appreciated. The company is truly flexible.

    Still growing so there are odd space issues that are being patched until we get larger locations but they are acutely aware of it and are active in keeping everyone as happy as they can.

    Pros

    - Smart people on most teams that care about their job

    - Incredible events for clients and partners, parties just for employees, lavish offsites, etc.

    - Very cool branded swag

    - I've worked at tech companies in the past that have actual culture and values. Coming here was like night and day. They think they have it, but they don't.

    - Politics and cliques galore

    - Your experience here is entirely dependent upon which team you work on and who you report to

    - Exponential growth means absolutely no on-boarding process. Instead of employees being enlivened by your desire to learn and therefore reach out to them for help, they dismiss you and tell you they had to learn it on their own, so you should, too. I've never in my life come across this attitude at a tech company.

    - They boast about their tech, but have never had the Engineering resources necessary to accommodate their roadmap, which made it almost impossible to do my job.

    - Actual vindictiveness and backstabbing

    The only people who can do anything about any of the cons has always been the owners, but they "don't want to get involved in drama," and I assume still don't, because nothing has changed. Unfortunately, this is part of owning a company. There's a difference between a boss and a leader and this is why.

    Some of the people at IX are great and full of knowledge!

    IX is a toxic work environment, don't work here if you care about,your career or your mental health.

    Over the last year, IX grew, constantly adding headcount. With this growth, came pains. They are not able to scale, and as a result, the teams are thrown into complete disarray.

    This, mixed with a lack of trust, created an environment full of tension, cliques, and gossip.

    Not much at this point

    Kontras

    - Don't believe the recent positive posts -- the HR / management team asked people to post and post themselves -- look at the overall trend of the score, it plummeted this year and that is accurate

    - I don't trust management anymore, they've been shady about things internally and we've broken trust with our customers

    - Customers no longer trust us, which is a terrible place to be

    - No vision on how to escape from this mess

    - Key leaders have left due to all these issues and he was the driving force behind any technology vision we ever had; remaining product team isn't fit to lead

    - Leadership isn't fit to handle the turmoil
