    Pros

    - Highly profitable company - Fast exchange of information between teams - Good if you are dead in your career, non competitive and just want to keep yourself a very easy life.

    Kontras

    -Increasingly high level of onward regulation by ESMA, BaFin or FCA. Reason: 79%(!) of clients lose money. CFD business is NOT a growing market. All ESMA regulated clients are relocated to Swiss office as the last resort. - Lower Trading Services Country Heads do not respect their own team members, block you from every career progression/changing departments, use information against you and rejects requested... time-off/holidays. This leads to massive turnover within Trading Services. 3 of 6 people in two teams LEFT the firm in the first 8 months this year alone. All skills, experience & intelligence are therefore transferred to another company. - Dealing with unqualified 79% losing clients ( uneducated -very often unemployed- day "traders" sitting at home, thinking to become a millionare by tomorrow) - most people from Trading Services decide to leave after 0,5-1.5 years. Even long term employees get secretly escorted out of the building by their own manager after company received notice. No handshake, no goodbye. This can be seen often in Trading Services London office. - senior management is a closed UK citizen circle only - no reason of hoping for long term career there

    The biggest issue is that none can be given. Increasing regulation is simply becoming the LAW. No growth and micromanaged. Introducing Brokers (who onboard clients) will be banned in Europe in couple of years.

    Pros

    Good group of co-workers. Fairly lean and dynamic company that goes against the dour snobbishness of a lot of other City finance companies. Willing to change and take on new and innovative technologies.

    Kontras

    Terrible cowboy mentality to software development, and the management of software processes was frankly a joke. The stress can be unbelievable as the code you were working on that week gets tossed over the fence and into production over the weekend. Expect sleepless weekends. I also became embroiled in some nasty political backstabbing when I started to complain. There is no chance to progress unless you are a... Machiavellian reptile.

    Pros

    IG is a fantastic place to work and develop as a marketeer. The sector is fast paced and as the markets move every second, there are always opportunities to develop content and engaging campaigns. IG is also a company that enables you to progress. Although, unfortunately, I was only at the company for a short space of time - I was presented with a number of career development opportunities. The future is... bright for IG Group and I wish my ex-colleagues all the best on the exciting journey ahead.

    Pros

    Quite good pay, WFH up to two days a week, Great people (those who actually do their work), Free fruits, Social events.

    Kontras

    Micromanagement, Incompetent management (mostly people who can’t do their jobs, but they stick around for a good pay and annual bonus), Technologically stagnated, Good ideas rejected most of the time (as their hire great people to do dumb jobs), Huge rotation (especially around bonus period, mostly very qualified people leave because they cannot stand it anymore), Procedures with approvals for pretty much... everything (except going to the loo), Favoritism, Lack of clear personal development path, Most of middle-level management completely ignores the new CEO’s vision (because it does not fit their routine or their lack of skills).

    Review your senior management skills and qualifications, especially on Head Positions. More than half of them are not qualified for their jobs whatsoever. Listen to the CEO - her direction is good, trust her. Change your executives and non-executives if necessary if they are blocking her vision.
