    Pros

Benefits, health care, gym allowance, impressive salary, prestige, training, location, novelty free bar with free coffee and friendly staff. Microwaves. Nice views of London. Opportunities to work on large global brands.

    Kontras

Long hours, 12 hour day the norm, heavy work load per person, competitive culture, high expectations, unsupportive, stressful, isolating, hierarchical, the London agency cliché. Messy desks. Hot desking. Average age 27 most employees in their first role, therefore exploitative. No canteen, free crisps chocolate alcohol and coffee don't exactly promote a healthy environment it's an 80s cliché to keep over worked... people who are very young... keen and working.

    Rat an das Management

Employ a drastic culture change toward a more employee centric environment, senior management don't seem to do anything. Show respect by offering more support. Create a robust on-boarding programme. Adopt a confidential annual manager review survey. Scrap the free unhealthy snacks and get with the times to promote a healthier working environment.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 3 Jahren bei Hill+Knowlton Strategies (Vollzeit)

    Pros

The people are top notch - very smart, driven and client-focused. There is a great mix of clients, ranging from the tech industry, to energy, and financial services to non profits, so you are exposed to vast array of issues and how to address them strategically. The CEO's vision of the company is well-articulated and exciting to consider, but it is hard to see how it is being implemented on the ground level.

    Kontras

Internal communications at the firm is lacking. Since the merger with PSI, there has been very little guidance from leadership on how client accounts will be supported. Understandably, there is a huge focus on new revenue and bringing in new clients, but the focus comes at the expense of retaining current client accounts and often results in poor work. The DC office integration between the two companies has been... long, protracted and not very well supported by the leadership. At a very basic level, the H+K and PSI cultures were very different from one another, which has resulted in friction at all levels. Employees have been leaving and very few have been coming in the door. The pay is less than industry standard, although the benefits are good.

Practice what we preach: open communication and transparent actions from leadership. Increase pay to increase the incentives for smart, talented people to continue advancing their careers at H+K.

    Pros

There is a lot of opportunity to advance you career at H+K. Employees have control on what clients and issues they want to work on.

    Kontras

Senior management doesn't provide adequate oversight of junior staff regarding feedback nor recommendations on career advancement. Although you have a lot of opportunity, many junior staffer don't know or take advantage of things available to them.

„H&K is extremely old fashioned and stodgy but they are more financially stable than most PR agencies right now.”

Ich habe bei Hill+Knowlton Strategies gearbeitet ()

    Pros

Typical benefits of working at a big global company. Senior management is rewarded and not much is expected of them but the junior staff carries the load (as is true with most agencies). The H&K brand is much stronger outside the US, if you're looking to make a jump over seas.

    Kontras

Very old and stodgy, which is pretty much its reputation. Not a place where young talent is valued. The best people tend to walk out the door after a year. Most of the offices in the US feel more like law offices than PR agencies. There is pretty much no consumer practice whatsoever.

    Rat an das Management

Put a greater emphasis on retaining top talent and try to give the junior staff more of a voice in how the company evolves.
