    Pros

    They care about student success and employees. The IT team works hard but has a good focus on work life balance. Company is engaged in the community. Software team helps with extra training. Work was challenging and engaging.

    Kontras

    The environment for 'for-profit' universities is hurting enrollment. Non-IT business units weren't always aware of how to provide quality technical requirements.

    Decent benefits and hour lunches

    This is a greedy company that only cares about making money. There are goals to meet monthly. they follow your activity all day but what is funny is some employees are allowed to just make as many calls as they want to while others are held accountable for making a hundred a day. With the 100 plus call requirement you call the same old leads over and over every day which is not productive at all. Some get by with not meeting their monthly required goal while others are fired if they do not. If you don't suck up to the management you won't get anywhere. They will do layoffs and fire people periodically all the time saying the company is doing great. If you are looking for job security stay away from this one.

    Get to know your employees. Don't play favorites which runs rampant. It has to be a level playing field for all. You let people that have worked there for years get away with doing what they want. Not fair. Even down to the dress code, some people are called out while others just wear whatever they want. At the upper management level quit walking around the office with your nose in the air like you're better than everyone else makes for a toxic environment. Would it kill you to say hello?

    Good medical, dental & vision. Free education after 90 days.

    Kontras

    Too many chiefs, not enough Indians. Vacation/Sick leave is terrible. Middle management has no power after all the new layers have been added.

    Benefits weren't bad. A good place for entry level. Always a lot going on so opportunities to learn different things.

    Much of the workforce is very unprofessional. It has a very "high school" gossip feel to it. Management jobs are usually given to whoever lasted to the longest and not who is actually qualified for positions. The business model seems to be to let go of people to meet revenue demands. There was always a fear of getting fired. The owner doesn't seem to have good vision and hires/fires senior level position before they are able to implement any ideas.

    Hire and pay the talented people and keep them. Listen to those who come to GU with proven track records. Let go of the people who are hoarding knowledge and limiting progress.

    Pros

    When I first started it was a really chill work environment. We had to call our students, complete our tasks, make sure we were being timely with emails. However you wanted to manage your students was up to you. Basically your hours were up to you, as long as you worked 40. Vacation was accrued per hour but they were flexible with letting you take it in advance. Daily huddle meetings, all coworkers were nice. Team oriented. Games, picnics, Royals games, plenty of employee appreciation. Free education for employees. Upward mobility to mentor, team lead, manager, or lateral moves to other departments are possible. CEO/President was really nice and made himself available to employees. Getting to work with veterans is really rewarding.

    100% online for-profit. Feels like a degree mill. Doesn't always feel like ethical work. Things began to go downhill around the end of 2015, goals were harder to meet, portfolios were getting larger, pay raises weren't happening. Lay-offs started in spring of 2016. The work perks began to fade. On the day I was let go in May of 2016, so were 12 others from my department, including my boss who had been there 14 years. The week before us there were at least 30 others. I know many people that are still employed who say the freedom of the job is completely gone. All work & no play. Completely micromanaged now.
