    In a heavily regulated industry where the customer needs sometimes seem to be secondary to pleasing the DfT, overcoming the Group/OpCo dynamics, the antiquated ways of working and the legacy thinking make it challenging and frustrating to achieve improvements that benefit customers as well as Group Collaboration and customer focus soundbites are plentiful - less so evidence of either happening effectively. Too... much talking, old fashioned thinking coupled with competing agendas & lack of real customer focus makes for a tough climb

    Consider how to collaborate more effectively within Group and across OpCos to achieve common goals within aligned strategies. Invest more in digital, recruit and empower more experts and create an environment and strategy that enables collaboration and is more customer and digital focused.

    Work on own initiative, mostly alone in charge of my bus and service. Nice colleagues.

    Wages are 25 per cent off job market. Pension scheme is poor. Leaving early after training bond cost. Management don't see value in good staff. Management out of touch on the ground since orders come from England

    Give better local management control and don't let valuable staff walk away because of wages. I'd return if they promoted me or give me the chance to apply for such promotion.

    Benefits, culture, friendly environment, growing company

    Kontras

    Salaries not at market level, inexperienced managers, poor communication, favouritism of departments - if you're not a driver, you won't be appreciated. You may have to beg for a meeting with your manager and be ignored.

    Focus on the people who are running the company and less on the day to day hiccups. The hiccups will fix themselves if the people are happy! The company has gotten large very quickly and the people cannot be forgotten about during the process.

    Can't be worse than first group. So far all terms and conditions protected, 5 weeks holiday, staff and spouse pass for use on all operators in Greater Manchester and other Go Ahead group buses (except London) modernisation of all computer systems, improved age profile of fleet and improved facilities in the depot.

    state Pension frozen so have to join company pension in its place

    There are no pros for Go Ahead or any of its subsidiaries - avoid at all costs; don't make the same mistake as me

    It is unusual that I would ever call a person or company toxic but there is no more appropriate term that I would give a company, its subsidiaries and its senior managers and directors within. The majority of these individuals appear to be driven by the desire to bully and exclude others who do not take part in this culture. I have seen this first hand over many years in many locations at many of their subsidiaries.... One particular 'highlight' was a competition between 3 managers who could fire the most employees. This sums of Go Ahead completely. The majority of managers and directors completely lack empathy and are only focused on creating a culture of division and hatred forgetting about the human impact of their decisions. If you are thinking of ever working for them turn around now and save yourself. #MeToo

    Long duties, favouritism behind counter, new drivers will get rubbish jobs, new drivers don't get sick pay for two years and any time off is unpaid, one funeral day off which is paid. If your face fits you get what you want. Contract is 37 hours but you do 44 hours in the week. Very quick to discipline drivers for small things. Get rubbish holidays during the year can't change. low wages for new drivers. Some... routes have no toilet break at each end. (D7). Spare rota = rubbish jobs. All they care is that there is a bus on the road.
