    Regular payment, warm and clean evironment. Nice colleagues. Cafeteria is doing a good job.

    Worst Managment ever seen. Lot of unnecessary reports. > 1000 new ppt files daily. Lots of new "projects" starting every week. No short and long term strategy

    Pros

    Hardly any. If you love competition through hipocrisy, if you enjoy the benefits of or tolerate favouritism, if you like endless working hours, mostly meaningless meetings and on-call duties, ill-defined tasks, the complete lack of job description, and all of it seasoned with a totalitarian and abusive management, this is an ideal workplace for you. If you'd like to die in a "war", GF is highly recommended for you... (actually that is how the management thinks about work - it is a "war").

    It would be hard to write a complete list. Well, if you are a sentient being, or you have your own thoughts or ideas from time to time, let alone you dare form your own opinion, stay away from GF. Professional/expert opinion is usually not tolerated. If you get a question or a problem to solve, make sure that you ask your boss about the correct answer or solution before you say or do anything, otherwise you get... stabbed in the back soon. Work ethics is an unknown concept in GF. The salary would be good if it did not come at the expense of your private life, health, and personality. Considering the work load and the totally needlessly generated stress from above the salary is less than mediocre. The training is below any expectations. The management expects you to learn everything the hard way, and it is made sure that it gets as hard as possible. This attitude has its consequences of course. Toxic work atmosphere, chaotic procedures, incomplete/faulty/intentionally cryptic documentations, they all take their toll on the fresh work force, and in the end, on the yield. The lack of proper training is, together with the GF tradition, that political reliability is strongly favoured against expertise or skills, the evergrowing source of the incompetence, which permeates this company so deeply that it certainly has no future. To say that GF has a "non analytical" approach to problems is a huge euphemism - strategic technical decisions are made often using intuition and gut feeling. Employee turnover is staggeringly high, managers come and go, while good engineers usually just leave. The loss of experience and expertise is of tragic proportions. The HR is useless, they do not offer the employees any protection/help. Employee evaluation is purely political. It makes no sense to criticise the Gaussian curve method - it is of no influence at all. Promotions come incredibly slowly, and their frequency is inversely proportional to your qualification and the quality of your work. Political reliability is the determining factor here. Advance and development are the enemies of GF. Regardless of the promotions, raises are rather of a symbolic value. What else? The cantine is of mediocre quality, and it is expensive above the average.

    My manager was good, but he seemed rare compared to others.

    Things move slow because people are afraid to make changes, many levels of hierarchy, stressful environment. Upper management talks a lot about pioneering new semiconductor technology, but seems unlikely.

    Management has no priorities, Everyone is concerned about their own job so career development is tough without spending extra 10-15 hours a week at work and really cultivating personal relationships with staff engineers.
