    Pros

    Good challenging work for an engineer, good benefits and nice atmosphere to work in. I would hire on again.

    Not in the location that I wanted to live in and sometimes the work was guided a little too much for an experienced engineer.

    Pros

    Interesting technology and an excellent quality system. Lots of people want to "do it right".

    Kontras

    Design is extremely tightly controlled from Houston, an Engineering team cannot even name the parts they create. Extreme clock watching seemed to suggest fiscal problems and deflate morale. I found the company very reluctant to change anything there was a "not invented here" mentality when significant improvements were suggested to well documented product flaws. Not a meritocracy, more of a "we were here... first" culture.

    Some of the people you hire around the world are actually very competent and... shock horror, want the company to succeed. FMC is over centralised in Houston and is blind to regional business opportunities and regional business threats. Recent performance proves this. FMC has some great capabilities in Houston but under the existing corporate culture the business will always struggle to operate outside of the... US.

    Office space, free fruits, trainings, coffee tea

    Space is not enough to write, This is a school not a company. They hire people with 15years experience as so called SENIOR Engineer and then extend the probation, the training co-ordinators torture new employees to finish exercise, very pitty on picking issues,without giving any prior hint they say performance is NOT GOOD after 90days. You many not be surprised if you are working under a person who is 10years... younger to you just because he or she is in FMC for 5years. No value for outside experience.

    Don't hire from outside to make the new joinee feel frustrated for joing your company. Develop interns to the role you need, your work is worth for only iterns. Correct your ARROGAN HR people

    Pros

    Great place for a graduate to learn about the oil field, they have a rotational scheme for graduates that is second to none!!

    Kontras

    After the rotational training is done, its time to leave!! Other employers offer much better benefit packages in regards to medical cover, 401K, 4 weeks vacation time, seperate PTO, 9/80's and the all important work/life balance. Senior management is nothing more than a "Old Boys Club" who as long as they are making money are completely detached from the reality that's on the shop floor and offices

    When you interview the staff leaving for competitors, please listen to what they have to say and implement the idea they give you FOR FREE!!! Your staff want a stable a career with clear objectives and real opportunities, support from their management team to achieve these, and a better work/life balance. I know of people that have left just to get 9/80's. This is a clear benefit that people REALLY want!!

    Pros

    - Lot of learning opportunities if you get a site opportunity - Stakeholders(Houston, Norway, Dunfermline or Singapore) recognize your talent in no time and support with high level of responsibility and ready to give full ownership of projects - Young blood all around so good scope for lots of new ideas (although never utilized this opportunity)

    - No control of Houston or other well established sites (Policies, Core values, Benefits, Promotions or anything). I believe they never care as well. So FMC India is independent body that can devise it's own policies and strategies - No interest in leadership development - Interested in Billing hours rather than quality of work - New Core values FMC India: Hard work never pays off,Leadership team shouldn't have... technical/managerial knowledge, Never ask for increment or promotion, Never think of providing ideas to make it a better work place(It's Managers & Leads Duty only)

    - Business leaders and managers from other FMC sites "MUST Save FMC India". It's better to act before Reputation is lost. - Come out of drafting loop - Prove FMC worldwide that we are not just drafting company but our engineers are capable of handling challenging product developments - For FMC India Managers & so called Leads : Remember If you can't retain - Then you are not eligible to recruit as well- Show some... pride and leave the leadership and work to your strength. Don't just climb the ladder just for the sake of dictatorship. - Give every employee enough chance to express... Just not highlight yourself but remember without hardworkers you can't survive long.
