Nette Kollegen, Zusatzleistungen wie Sodexo Gutscheine oder VWL, Super Chef, Wachsende Branche
Kontras
Leider wird vieles direkt aus Finnland bestimmt und die Leute die dort das sagen haben, gucken oft nicht über den Tellerrand hinaus.

* Very social and kind people * Entrepeneurial way of working with quite some freedom * Products are high quality

* No clear vision from senior management what F-Secure wants to achieve, this influences the layers below and causes unclarity and makes it hard to create focus * Long time needed to get a product ready with the desired features * No clear & aligned internal communication and collaboration. Much isolated islands that don't communicate which causes delays and feels inefficient.

Pros
A long history in the industry, excellent research, and award winning end point protection.
Kontras
In this fast-changing industry, F-Secure management is way too slow and cautious to keep up. Repeatedly we have been slow to market, confused in our direction, and too careful about investing into real growth. Because of the company success in the home market of Finland, they often believe they are better and more competitive than they are outside this closed environment. Finally, there is way too much bloat in HQ because of a complete acceptance of mediocrity.

Pros
Office location, although it may be moved in the near future as more people are hired into B2B.
Kontras
I came across several managers and VPs that let emotions interfere with the work and make it personal. Some of them even avoid working with each other. And it seems ok to use personal reasons as excuse for not cooperating. The worst is when it is one-sided and the other person gets dragged into it and his/her reputation suffers in the process.

Pros
More international than many other companies in Finland. Although the work is not as global as people's impression of F-Secure is usually.
Kontras
In comparison to other companies I have worked at, there are more people here that are not supportive of each other, not interested in collaboration and not very motivated. I think the reason is lack of good (people) leadership and clear cultural values. The management does not seem to be evaluated in their leadership skills and only focused on sales target. The people turnover in some teams is very high, and it cannot be only job rotation as it is often communicated.

Pros
Good social community. People are welcoming and its easy talk to new people.
Kontras
Inefficient and responsibility avoiding management and HR. F-Secure has made it self a safe job for old professionals whose knowledge is outdated and who have been internally transferred to different positions where their competencies do not match and they slow and draw the motivation of new employees. Also there are too many made up jobs for people who have no skills and bring no real value to company or operations.
