    Pros

    Before the layoffs and the mass exodus of people who voluntarily left over the past year the main reason to work for Evolent was the people. They had some of the most dedicated, creative, brightest people in healthcare working for them but most are gone now. I guess now the main pros are the competitive pay, good benefits, unlimited PTO, and decent travel policy.

    Evolent is better at producing PowerPoint slides showing how an application would look or work than building actual applications. They are also better at showing wildly exaggerated graphs than producing real results. You will be expected to use these slides to show your clients that everything is great so they don't see that Evolent has turned their market into a flaming dumpster fire. Evolent has been running... a diversity campaign for several years and it is primarily for show. There are no black people on the Evolent leadership team. The women in senior leadership are in token roles like "Chief Accounting Officer" or "Chief Customer Officer". Most organizations now recognize that women in leadership often get labeled with negative attribute words while men are labeled with positive ones for the same behavior, bossy vs leader. Evolent still buys into the idea that attribute based feedback, primarily from the male senior leaders, should determine whether you are promoted or get your bonuses. It isn't shocking that people are leaving to go to companies where the glass ceiling isn't made of tempered glass.

    Rat an das Management

    Stop investing in and cut loose the parts of the business that aren't working and aren't part of the mission. Sunk cost cannot be recovered. You founded this company to use population health technology to change healthcare delivery. Instead of innovating in population health it's "all hands on deck" trying to make the rusty broken down health plan services technology work. Invest in promoting and hiring... qualified and talented people who believe in the mission of the company. You've gone from hiring candidates from top schools to having statewide presidents who graduated from the university of phoenix. Are you really surprised that you aren't getting good results?

    There are some people who care about their jobs

    These people simply do not know how to run a company successfully. Many are clueless as to how to profitably do business. Lots of advancement by politics and not thru merit

    Unlimited PTO and great work from home policy

    Kontras

    Micromanaging to the extreme. Very weak leadership. Executive team has zero experience outside of Evolent. Department heads are promoted with no knowledge or expertise in their area. Serious trust issues between workers and management. The culture is toxic. Extremely high turnover.

    Unlimited pto, 11 weeek maternity leave, paternity, flexible scheduling and remote work

    Constant chaos, no structure, matrix organization that results in too much top leadership with competing priorities pushing their own agendas. Decisions are made without thinking through the downstream impacts, and business is grown constantly without any sort of stabilization period, which results in low quality. There is no support to correct the issues that arise from the quick expansions. 401 k was recently... changed to a yearly match based off of company performance.

    Remove top layers of leadership into a simple report up structure. Build a quality product, and allow for stabilization between implementation of new lines of business. Prevent layoffs of crucial roles by restructuring the leadership.

    Executive leadership is OK. Great talent acquisition process for entry level positions.

    Upper management is clueless mostly. Promoted mostly through favoritism so you can imagine. All icing and no cake in what they're selling. Low client renewal rate as a result. Huge variance in experience level in management layer. Most of the leaders are only looking out for themselves. Very evident as they don't hesitate to run company to ground just for their own vested interests and promotion. Company is in a... constant mess as a result. Still operate as 2 independent divisions and IT systems (Valence and Evolent). Constant ego issues between their leaders has led to chaos. Company direction keeps on changing. Appears all this chaos is man-made by select few leaders just to promote themselves. They are trying to launch into new areas without fully understanding complete picture. Under pressure and job security, teams build basic mundane solutions that's marketed heavily as new buckingham palace. Evolent brand has been tarnished very hard in recent years as a result. Clients don't renew and are all leaving. Management's full time job is to maintain charade. They don't hire experienced personnel as such for fear of being exposed and job insecurity.

    Look for outside investors who can provide expert consulting to turn-around this company. Eliminate fat-layer. Hire experienced leaders. Especially in IT. Time to have one solution/one datawarehouse/one tool.
