Ich habe bei Dana-Farber Cancer Institute gearbeitet ()

    Pros

There are absolutely none. This place has opened my eyes.

    Kontras

There are many news articles describing the behavior of Partners Healthcare, of which both Dana Farber and Brigham and Women's are a part. Note that Brigham and Dana Farber use the same security and tactics. Anyone considering working should read the story of Amy Reed and Hooman Noorchashm. The couple had to sue Brigham and Women's Hospital in order to make the hospital stop breaching their CONSTITUTIONAL... RIGHTS. This story has been well covered in the press, google it. Read about how a Massachusetts judge found that the hospital declared them a "security risk" and imposed "security tactics" to harass them. The judge found that the hospital put security measures in place to INTIMIDATE the couple, and ruled that the hospital was indeed violating the couple's basic constitutional rights.

    Keine Meinung zum Geschäftsführer

Ich arbeite seit weniger als einem Jahr bei Dana-Farber Cancer Institute als Vollzeit

    Pros

Get to partake in the fight against cancer

    Kontras

Not enough hours in the day to do all the work, which results in extremely poor work/life balance and 10-12 hour work days. Expectations are to do 20 hours of work in an 8 hour day, and any leftover work is expected to be done from home, and failure to complete tasks is dismissed as "poor time management".

    Rat an das Management

Hire more technicians to spread the workload among more workers

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 3 Jahren bei Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Vollzeit)

    Pros

    - Great benefits! 401k, comprehensive health care, etc - They hire talented and hard-working employees that go the extra mile every day - Managers are receptive, patient, and supportive - Compensation is level with other hospitals

    Kontras

    - Employees get pigeonholed into a position - Difficult to move from one department to another - Over the years, management slowly got rid of incentives for employees (preceptor pay for training other employees) - Patient population continues to grow, but no additional support staff was hired to alleviate extra growth. As a result: - High turnover rate - CASS and their managers are overworked

    Rat an das Management

Directors are not in touch with what's happening in their clinics because they are stuck in their individual offices. All the things that they based their decision on is second hand information. Listen to the complaints of your employees, especially those in positions with high turn over rate (CASS, Practice Managers, Clinical Assistants). Give them structured time to give feedback since they are constantly "on"... throughout their shifts because of the overwhelming patient volume.
