    1. Investment on employees - Everyone get funds to cover education/training anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 per year. 2. Strong and Stable financially - Products are sold in all mass retail stores : BestBuy, Costco, Walmart, Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby etc. 3. Opportunity of Growth - Employees can receive multiple promotions within few years, it's great to see employees jumping up the corporate ladder much faster in... this company than other similar companies. 4. Great co-workers - They conduct multiple interviews to ensure every new employee is a good fit. They will let go a very poor performer. The end result is that you get to work with awesome group of people. 5. Region - You can live anywhere in St. Catherine or Niagara Falls and it won't take more than 10 minutes to drive to office. Peaceful region. 6. Job Security - As long as employees are performing and co-operating there are no surprise terminations. With Performance Review that company have in place, it is much easier for employees to understand the possibility of termination much before it actually happens.

    1. Compensation - Low to Average range compensation. However, if you are great in your job you may get raise and promotion quite fast (1-2 years). 2. Extra Hours - Many salaried employees need to put in extra hours to cover up for open/vacant positions. No overtime payment for salaried employees. 3. Employee Shortage- There is always shortage of employee because of location. Sometimes one person is doing 2 people... job hurts performance and work/life balance. 4. Minimalist office space - No carpet floor or fancy vending machines; More like a warehouse feeling 5. Aggressive company - Management is very passionate about business, and that translates to higher expectations from employees with aggressive approach from management to hold employees accountable. People with low ego and high performance tend to last longer. 6. Bonuses - Some departments will never receive the bonus even though it may make up to 20% of their salary. So, if you have bonus line item in your offer letter, please ask your hiring manager in more detail. There are chances you will never see bonus during your tenure.

    1. Change the vision from "We believe all people should be empowered." to "We believe all people should feel empowered." The difference in "be" and "feel" is huge. It requires less judgement from our side, and asking question to the people for empowering them. 2. Move to Toronto area. Please open satellite office asap to accommodate growth and employee shortage. At this point, the only reason that is stopping... growth is human resource, so it is very easy decision if you want exponential growth. 3. Remote Working - Please make your work environment more flexible (similar to other tech companies) by allowing flexible remote working for some departments. 4. Time Management - Managers need to hold themselves accountable for starting meetings on time. Many a times the meeting starts 5-10 minutes later than scheduled time, and sometimes it takes much longer than required. Need more focused meetings to boost productivity.

    Supportive of personal and professional development. Great team collaboration . Company always looking to improve with feedback. Builds team through corporate events. Good training process for new employees. Management is very supportive.

    Like any review read the good and the bad. There are legitimate ones on both ends. Be aware that management strongly pressures employees to write reviews here. Many will obviously write positive reviews about their current workplace. Management will constantly harass you to write a review until you say you wrote one. I would not recommend working here. It saddens me to say that because I would want the best... hires for the people I worked with. If you decide to work here, know that there is an issue with work life balance. Depending on your role you may have to constantly stay late. Some employees have to do tasks from home on nights and weekends. Heaven forbid you get a company phone. Terrible work/life balance. They will claim they are flexible but they are not. Management does not understand what it is like to have a family life at all. They do not understand that some people like to spend time with their spouse and kids. They may have family obligations, but those come second to anything work related. Many will talk about all the great training they provide. This is true, they have many opportunities to take training courses. However work is always more important so any time training classes are organized by the company they are always outside of work hours. They will always be on nights and weekends. If you decline training they will slowly work on firing you for not being a team player. If you decline training courses you will be harassed to take them over and over. They do not understand that some people need to spend time with their families outside of work hours. Overall environment - just not a pleasant place to work. Staff are great, but there is just an overall weird cloud of negativity. Very high stress environment. Hiring Process - extremely lengthy and over the top. For entry level positions you might have several interviews, personality tests, and work preview days. I had a bad gut instinct during the hiring process that I should have listened to. If Tim Hortons down the street is hiring, take that job over any position here. Compensation - they will pay you as low as humanly possible. They low ball everything.

    Pros

    Work/life balance is very good. If you budget your time well you will rarely be there outside of 8-5. The company is big enough to be a major competitor in what they do but small enough that you can see your handprints on the end results. It takes some time to build trust, but once you do in many positions you will have the freedom to make your own decisions and plans to achieving your goals. Business is... sound. There is no sign of downsizing in the foreseeable future. Perks are getting better. New benefits plan which has good coverage and family coverage. Education funds. A lot of little things like team lunches, events, fitness incentive, subsidized coffee machine.... A company in Niagara that is not effected or controlled by the tourism industry.

    CWD is a fast growing company in the consumer electronics business. It has well known and respected brands in the market place led by gifted entrepreneurs and highly trained professionals. It promotes a good work-life balance and is support of motivated employees who wish to grow their careers. CWD strives to create a positive work environment by creating team social events during the course of the year.

    CWD is an excellent place to work. I've been at CWD for just under 2 years and report to one of the Managing Directors of the company. For anyone who reads these reviews on GlassDoor, I would highly recommend applying and seeing if CWD is a good fit for you. -Hire recent College/University Grads. This is encouraging to see. -Employer cares about the general well-being of the employees. Work/life balance... and full use of vacation time encouraged. -Collaboration with fellow employees makes the creative process a lot easier. -Fun to go to work everyday knowing you're helping to create real world products that you might use in your everyday life. -Opinion is valued and your feedback is at the very least considered and taken seriously. -Marketing team is allowed to experiment and test ideas/concepts pretty freely. You're encouraged to get away from your desk. -Fun team events every few months with the cost fully covered by employer. Giveaways of products all the time. -Director is accommodating and understanding for personal issues that may require time off. -Director is incredibly down to earth despite success of the company - Approachable and encourages you to seek advice. Product Managers are very knowledgeable, Designers are talented, Marketing Team is creative and those that stick around here for 2+ years tend to fit in well to the culture of the workplace. Like any job, as an employee, it's important to leave your ego at the door. Being open to others opinions/experiences and not having a "know-it-all" attitude is an important factor for success at CWD. Stubbornness and Negativity do not fare well.

    Pros

    I've been working here for a little over a year now. It's been a great experience so far. The people are great, company is fun, pay is good, and the job is unique (never boring). -Training is excellent. They walk you through everything to ensure you're ready for the job. - Work/life balance is highly encouraged. - Fun department and company events almost monthly. - Good benefits. - Pay starts off at... low-medium, but increases significantly after a year. - Management is good; patient, willing to listen, encourages you to express your opinions and ask questions. - The company is always looking at ways to keep their employees happy. I.e. product giveaways, recognition board, discounts, CWD "bucks". - Smaller company means we all know each other fairly well and enjoy working together. - Fast-paced environment means you can learn a lot very quickly and gain more experience in less time.

    - Turnover rate is fairly high, although I'm not really sure why. - Environment is fast paced. Don't think you can lazily sneak your way up the ladder here. Organization and self-discipline are important traits you'll need to be successful. - Some silly little rules like no coffee breaks before 10 am. - Too many SOPs to follow. - Everything you do needs to be approved by management, which can really slow... things down.
