    Pros

    Management in the Contact Center is fantastic! Awesome benefits and flexible scheduling as well. Regular employee appreciation events help boost morale. Lots of opportunity for advancement within the department and outside the department.

    Kontras

    The new-hire trainer for all departments reflects poorly on the college as a whole--doesn't speak/write/even spell correctly, which makes this being an institution of higher education seem questionable.

    I have met some of the nicest co-workers here, made life long friends.

    Terrible pay, completely absent management, pre-made classes leave no choice to instructor with laughable material, spelling and numeric mistakes on most documents, admissions blatantly lies and admits students unable to pass, one program manager oversees multiple programs and is unqualified, lack of communication, lack of respect, school that is run like a business with absolutely no focus on quality education,... actually refers to students as "customers" in emails. Seriously if you care about education, don't work here, you will be appalled.

    Pros

    • The Contact Center is a warm and friendly environment to start out at the college. It is a great place to network and learn about the college. You will be challenged to make a large amount of outbound calls and quickly build rapport with students! • Management is friendly and flexible. • Schedules are flexible. • Lots of room for growth.

    • It is easy to become burnt out. • Repetitive work with very little variety. • Often changes are expressed last minute; however there is an ability to take a step back from any task and ask questions.

    • Prepare all employees to better answer short questions and navigate inbound transfers so that callers can get the information they are seeking quickly to build better rapport. Aim for "first call resolution" when possible. • Consider calling people less or calling them at more convenient times (e.g. “best time to call”) to build a better image of the college to avoid appearing as a "numbers only" institution. •... Don't penalize representatives on-call metric for needing time to ask questions or taking their time to properly update/follow-up on a call. • Consider the volume of calls that are coming at representatives at one time. Sometimes calls come in very quickly, all day, which can be challenging to mental health and employee efficiency/productivity.

    Pros

    They trained you well when you start so you feel prepared when you start working with students.

    Horrible work life balance Promotions were nearly non-existent They tell you that you just work a few Saturdays's but it works out to be 24 of the 52 Saturdays a year. They fought you when you asked for time off and would give you a hard time for missing work when it was approved. Never gave you opportunities to grow even when you asked.

    Train your management. Just because someone is good in sales doesn't make them a good leader. They need to be trained on how to coach and how to adapt that across all learning styles. You also need to hold all managers accountable for their work schedule. They would often show up and leave when it suited them.

Salaries/benefit packages are solid; Growth Paths for just about every position in the company...and we actually PROMOTE from within! Culture and Morale are highly valued and positive.... Absolutely a top employer in Western New York!
