Ich arbeite seit mehr als 5 Jahren bei Bryant & Stratton College (Teilzeit)

    Pros

I have met some of the nicest co-workers here, made life long friends.

    Kontras

Terrible pay, completely absent management, pre-made classes leave no choice to instructor with laughable material, spelling and numeric mistakes on most documents, admissions blatantly lies and admits students unable to pass, one program manager oversees multiple programs and is unqualified, lack of communication, lack of respect, school that is run like a business with absolutely no focus on quality education,... actually refers to students as "customers" in emails. Seriously if you care about education, don't work here, you will be appalled.

Ich habe für mehr als 10 Jahre bei Bryant & Stratton College gearbeitet ()

    Pros

    Independence in managing classroom.

    Kontras

Very limited materials provided to instructor. Class sizes advertised as "small" but may range from 8 to 30. Minimal resources in library. Students have limited reading and writing skills and it's difficult to move through the course curriculum without failing most of the class.

Ich arbeite seit weniger als einem Jahr bei Bryant & Stratton College als

    Pros

Very interested in student success. Program manager is very professional and approachable.

    Kontras

Classes start before they send out contracts. Faculty meetings are during busiest times of session.

    Rat an das Management

Contracts should be prior to class and if there is a drop/add that would modify the rate, it should be addressed with each individual class after drop/add period.

Ich habe für mehr als 3 Jahre bei Bryant & Stratton College gearbeitet ()

    Pros

Opportunity to enhance teaching skills. Plenty of computers for staff and students. Clean, well maintained building and grounds. Some dedicated coworkers.

    Kontras

Management has a "let them eat cake" attitude. Management cuts back on the wrong things. Students are now receiving less academic support, must take online classes, etc.. Some employees with very poor social skills are never dealt with making the work environment sometimes uncomfortable.

    Rat an das Management

Take care of your customers aka students first. Stop panicking and cutting back on things like adequate staffing while paying a fortune on things like marketing. Go back to 100 percent brick and mortar. Students who seek out career colleges are looking for in class support and guidance. Stop ignoring and rewarding innapropriate behavior in staff.

Ich arbeite bei Bryant & Stratton College ()

    Pros

You are given creative freedom to teach the course your assigned any way you want as long as it is relevant to the course and college outcomes.

    Kontras

Constantly being reviewed and nit-picked on how to teach better. Low pay for the amount of hours you have to put into each course. No chance for advancement unless you have been there a long time and "in" their group. Clicky. Many meetings that you are not paid for but are required to attend.

    Rat an das Management

Pay your adjuncts better so they will actually want to put their all into their job. Stop playing favorites or you will keep missing out on employees who could make your organization better.

    Pros

They pay in USD, which is nice. Your fellow instructors are generally friendly and helpful. Many students come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and the successes (though rare) are really rewarding.

    Kontras

Aside from the predatory admissions practices and exorbitant prices they charge students for a less-than-stellar education, they: Change classroom policies quickly and without warning Moved many gen. ed. classes to an online only format, without adequately preparing the students (many of whom don't have regular home access to a computer), Constantly send reminders about retention, sending mixed messages... about whether they're linking retention rates to your continued employment. This obviously creates pressure to pass students who would fail, Undermine faculty decisions about class policies (like late submission policies) in order to manipulate retention, Fail to put together contracts in a timely fashion
