    Pros

    I feel fortunate every day for having been selected as part of this elite crew of innovators, thinkers and generally awesome people. Brandwatch is out to conquer the social listening space and each employee is charged with a clear mission & tangible drive to succeed. The NYC office is far beyond 5 stars in terms of culture, and senior leadership is transparent & forthcoming with information.

    With that said, the product is not as polished as it could be which can cause frustrations to filter down.

    Concentrate on making a brilliant product that is consistently reliable and works as it should - new features are great but the basics need to be sorted and kept nailed down. People will feel really good working on something they really believe in. In terms of the general culture at the company though, that's great so keep doing what you're doing.

    Pros

    Since joining roughly two years ago I've been exposed to so much more than I originally thought I was going to. There is so much opportunity to work on various projects, whether it be in your own team or cross-functionally. I am extremely happy with my decision to come to Brandwatch and have the challenge and exposure in such a fast-growth organization. Brandwatch has upped my game and overall skillset.

    Break up those bitter entrenched groups within engineering. Rotate them, re-assign, reeducate them or let them go, but make those changes! Don't reward time served with management roles, especially to attempt to win back those more bitter employees. They're not loyal to you, us or our customers. They're loyal to their shares.     Amazing culture. You are surrounded by people that care about work and their lives outside of it. There are literally clubs for everything so everyone can feel included in activities, from board games to table tennis to sketch clubs, socialising is key to making this place feel like a bonded, creative workplace. Challenging work but rewarding lifestyle

    There aren't many cons I can think of. The biggest one that comes to mind is career growth. There isn't really a clear and direct path for employees. Many of the employees are on the younger side, so this is very critical (i.e. for someone right out of college).     Sometimes the air con is a bit too hot. We're nearly out of good ping pong balls. At worst sometimes the company direction and strategy can seem a little hard to track but if you take the time to speak to management they are putting in the hours to create the vision.

    Keep on listening and reacting. Be as approachable as possible. There are many different ways to manage people. It seems like every manager at Brandwatch attends training and tries to improve their managerial skills. Great stuff.
