    Pros

Not the best place to work if you're new to sales

    Pros

    - Great Learning Experience - Friendly work environment - Tons of opportunity Listen, if you're just getting into sales or were like me and got this job right out of college, you are going to learn a ton. Marcus Evans training takes a huge amount of time in pitch development, lead research, and getting comfortable on the phones. You will gain vital sale skills that will help you be successful in any sales/business development role in the future. Additionally, you gain so much knowledge from various industries like Healthcare, Employee Benefits, HR, Petrol, etc. Within your first 3 months your manager and other mentor figures will take time to answer any questions to try to help you improve. They firmly believe in learning on the job which can be a double edge sword. Additional perks include networking and traveling opportunities

    Kontras

    - 24/7 Grind - Poor work/life balance - Pay structure - Employee Support/Resources Like I said previously, they firmly believe in learning on the job which is both a great thing and a bad thing. Marcus Evans does not provide any type of resources to help with the lead research aside from some public platforms like Linkedin, Crunchbase, and 1 hour of Zoom-info a day. The rest is on you. You're expected to gather 100 new leads, send out 100+ emails, and have a minimum of 7+ outgoing calls a day - completely manually, which takes up a huge chunk of your time and completely inefficient. As stated previously, the managers really try to make the onboarding and training great for new hires. The issue is, the managers are also focused on hitting their own target goals and are managing a large group of people, so often times things get overlooked and you're not given the best tools and support to succeed. Their knowledge of tech is limited so the email platform is ancient and their knowledge of G-suite is very low, which makes streamlining communication rather difficult. In terms of pay structure; when you're first hired you start at part-time which means no benefits. If you hit their target goals within 3 months you will then be switched over to full time but still won't receive benefits till after 6 months of working. With your first 3 months they pay you a flat rate of $1500 a month which isn't even minimum wage. This is where the high risk high reward comes in, because if you DO succeed in landing sales you receive 5% of commission (typically 10% if you're full time but 5% while training). As a new hire getting the hang of things, you're probably not going to be making alot of sales so the $1500 base pay is extremely low. The lack of support and resources create a 24/7 grind work culture. If you don't spend extra hours or if you're not an exceptional employee at the get go, you WILL struggle to keep up. If you don't hit your targets within the first 3 months they will let you go because you're not making the company money. You see on Glassdoor that they are always at a hiring surge because their employee turnover rate is so high.
