Pros
Working remotely, the CSR position has been tolerable for someone who has no prior field experience in call-center environment. People whom excel at independent tasks, and can troubleshoot on the fly or decipher customer needs will have no trouble beyond navigating normal company metrics to comply with business expectations. PTO is generous for someone who does not typically take time off, there is also included bereavement and maternity options available. While not exactly a typical office job, the call center life is a fairly easy day job for those who enjoy staying completely engaged during the entire work day. Subject matter is easy to learn for someone who retains knowledge or material well - or takes good notes to refer to; systems are in place to help employees research and determine accurate answers to assist customers in need.
Kontras
Not exactly a job for those who require more lenient PTO requests; there are systems in place to trade shifts with coworkers, request paid time off. Sometimes operations will approve of early leave but is not something to rely on. Direct Service Managers can be hit or miss, some will be very oriented towards complying with metrics - other managers will genuinely contribute to your overall success to boost your performance as well as culture great employees. Some issues such as website or typical procedural troubleshoots will be out of your hands and standing as a front line employee, many customers will often use their full vocabulary - can be overwhelming for someone that does not have the right mindset.
