    I was a tenured employee at BMW North Scottsdale until 2006. I only left due to an out of state move, and when I left it was on good terms. I was encouraged to get back in touch if I were to ever move back to the area. I did so this month (12/2019), and now I am an Audi technician instead of a BMW technician. I was interviewing for a position over the phone with Audi North Scottsdale, and everything was going... great until the HR department referred to the newly established "no rehire policy" in place for Penske Automotive Group. This seems a bit narrow-minded, especially given that good technicians are so difficult to find these days? I am frankly at a loss, and quite disappointed that they aren't willing to make an exception for someone who was a good long-term employee, who left on good terms 13 years ago, and was invited to reach out for a position if I was ever back in the area. My advice? Perhaps you should be a little bit more flexible in your hiring processes? It's difficult to find good technicians these days. I know this because I have been in the industry for over 30 years, and in the past 5+ years that is all I have been hearing from both dealerships and independent facilities alike. As a result of your inflexibility, I guess I will unfortunately be going to work for your competition instead of being allowed to return as I was previously encouraged to do so .. Over a decade ago.
