Ich habe für mehr als 5 Jahre bei PayScale gearbeitet - Vollzeit

    Pros

I worked on PayScale's customer success and new business teams for over five years. I left PayScale a few months back and have remained in touch with many current and former employees of all levels & tenure. During my time at PayScale, I was lucky enough to grow in so many areas of my life, both professionally and personally. I've learned skills and developed a professional network that will carry through my... entire career. One of the things I loved about PayScale is that the team was always evolving and strategizing to drive the best business and customer outcomes. The team strived to grow their footprint in the world of HR/Comp but was also hyperfocused on achieving success for thousands of customers. Over the years I witnessed our team and CCO drive impressive change (new technologies, new teams developed, new roles created, increased customer adoption/growth and etc.) That change scared some people on the team, but it also drove other team members to new heights! "You go Glen Coco" The CS team is full of amazing individuals. I can't wait to see all the significant accomplishments you'll achieve with the new changes.

I do not agree with a few of the recent comments here on Glassdoor, but I respect everyone's ability to share their experiences. However, if you have strong opinions, I encourage you to connect with leadership or HR at PayScale. In my over 5+ years at PayScale I have NEVER seen anyone's job or employment be in jeopardy for providing feedback and I've heard some really pointed and direct feedback over the years. If... you see something wrong or broken then go help fix it :) PayScale wasn't always perfect, often you might feel like you are "herding cats," but it's situations that like this that allow the team to step up and drive change. If you thrive in a changing and dynamic environment then PS is for you. If you need everything perfectly laid out to execute a goal then I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

The Fransico partnership is very exciting, many PayScalers see opportunity! Obviously teams/dynamics/process/etc. will change but try to find, highlight and empower employees that thrive during this changing time. Those team members help drive internal adoption and are usually fiercely focused on customer and business outcomes. Good luck!

Ich habe für mehr als 3 Jahre bei PayScale gearbeitet - Vollzeit

    Pros

Pros: Great work-life balance. Great people. Everyone seems to care a lot about the customers, consumers, products, and most importantly, each other. Benefits are fantastic. My coworkers are super smart and the projects I worked on were really interesting.

    Kontras

Cons: Engineering floor can't seem to hire faster than people are leaving. Company culture doesn't lend itself to documenting/sharing information well. I think PayScale has huge potential to be great, if they take these issues seriously and fix them ASAP.

Hire good people fast. When people leave, responsibilities get shuffled and stress increases, resulting in more people leaving. This results in a bad feed-back loop. You need to put a lot of effort into rehiring as soon as possible. If you can do this, then I think the culture will be very positive. Some positions are underpaid. Remember that it's more expensive to rehire than to pay correctly.

Ich habe für mehr als 10 Jahre bei PayScale gearbeitet - Vollzeit

    Pros

I like to evaluate jobs on 5 dimensions (I don't think I invented this, but I don't remember where I get them): * Total Rewards: This is how much money you're paid, the benefits, the fringe benefits, etc. * Your Peers * Your Manager * Interestingness of the work * Perceived social value of the work Everyone places different importance to the different dimensions, and everyone has a different... threshold. For me, PayScale far-exceeded my threshold (and all competing companies) for over a decade. * Total Rewards: The pay is competitive with the market. The world-life balance at PayScale is phenomenal. You're expected to work 40 hours per week. You're _rarely_ going to get asked to work more than that. The PTO is good. The week off for July 4th is _great_. The total rewards are 🤩. * Your peers: they're unique, they're interesting, they're ready to help, they're smart, they're dedicated, they're thoughtful. They're people you want to work with. * The manager: My manager fit my working style perfectly. He gave me the autonomy I needed and was always willing to help. * Interestingness of the work: There are _so_ many interesting things to work on. There are really important things to work on for our customers. * Social Value of the work: PayScale does primary research on important topics in the world. You will meet people who ask you where you work, and then say: "OH MY GOSH! I used you guys to get a raise!" You are helping employers understand how to pay people _right_. I loved my time working at PayScale. I whole-heartedly endorse it! I'm excited for the new execs. In my short time with them, I was very impressed and I think they'll do great things.

The engineering org has grown a lot in the last couple of years. The team has outgrown some processes haven't been updated... mostly around communication.

    Rat an das Management

Focus on installing a group of Engineering Managers to run the teams. Your awesome engineers need someone to continue to grow them. The VP/Director level needs someone to help them.
