Diversity is encouraged. IF one truly has a passion for retail whatever level management, buyer, store planning, staffing, operational— it is possible. IF you are lucky enough to have a mentor who believes in you it is possible. Starts with strong leadership- management. This is the piece that is becoming increasingly harder to find.

Its retail the customers will be abusive to employees. Nothing new Quality of workers is probably at its all time low Company cannot hire qualified people. Low pay not enough hours. 40 hour jobs are obsolete Part time hours 12-20 are usually what they get. So of course “you get what you pay for” And sorry millennials and Gen Z…. MOST of you rather not work at “a useless job” Occasionally they do get some employee’s who are willing to work hard and want to move up, but far and few. They are lucky to get mediocre employees. Sad but they are willing to hire anyone as long as they can stand up and breathe.
