Ich habe für mehr als ein Jahr bei L.E.K. Consulting gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

-intelligent pre-mba associates / office culture varies across offices -opportunity exists to be on strategy projects with notable clients, albeit extremely rare -exposure to clients, including investment professionals at leading PE firms

    Kontras

-retention has become a serious issue in the past few years, strong performers are almost always overworked and are expected to work miracles on poorly scoped cases -the firms follows a mantra of cheaper and faster relative to competing firms, which has significant impact on junior staff (associates and consultants), who more often than not are not properly trained to handle the workload or timeline -the... staffing model is simply unsustainable and lacks grounding in reality: there is little to no buffer period between cases, scenarios where staff is staffed back-to-back on tough due diligence for more than 6 month stretches in increasingly common -brain drain of staff with key technical skills (financial, data analysis, etc.) at the firm with no suitable pipeline of replacements. It often becomes a sink-or-swim situation where capable staff will be forced to either self-learn to get by or the alternative simply to get canned with a terrible review that is completely out of their control

    Rat an das Management

LEK's current business model may be great at driving near term (think 1 to 2 year growth), which at this point is largely driven by the sheer number of due diligence in PE that no other consulting firms want to pick up; the firm is woefully inadequate in planning for long term success -concentrate on retention: your staff is your most valuable asset; hiring larger quantities of increasingly incompetent... replacements will do little to improve the quality of client deliverables -invest to developing capabilities for the 21st century: build out staff with data scientist, statistics qualifications (or stop selling cases that staff have no qualification to do) -please have consulting staff / or bare minimum have former consulting staff be part of the allocations process to give staff breathing room on cases or voice pushback against MDs' poor scope
