    Team Leads are very helpful and approachable. BOI support you with the QFA exams so it's a good starting point to build your career in banking. There's great opportunities in BOI once you've your exams to move into a different department. All you need to do is ask and they'll help as much as possible

    The hours and shift times aren't great. You're told you work 1 week of lates every 6 weeks, but I had 2x11-7 1x12-8 and 1x2-10 in the space of 6 weeks, so 4 latesin the space of 6 weeks. Also, the job itself is awful because people only call when they've a problem and 9/10 times it's 'your fault'. It's not a job you could stick at (mentally) for more than 1-1.5year.     Nice canteen in kilkenny site, friendly coworkers, social life promoted on site, good security, allowed to read/play games when floor is quiet

    Massive segregation between different departments, snobbery from higher departments and managers, break times/ roster very poor, computer systems very outdated, technical issues on computers commonplace, little support provided when you get a bad call and you're upset, senior managers don't make any effort to get to know you or ask how you're doing

    Look after your staff well, and the customer experience will improve. We came over from hcl on existing t&c, and getting a BOI contract took months of false promises and brushing off. Other depts looked down on us and made snarky remarks. Managers from other depts who were not qualified/experienced in our dept were assigned to monitor us and created very impractical systems of working.

    Really would work on developing people skills. Truly shocking how poor some managers are in communicating. Management just listen to one side ie team leader and collude with them on a issue regardless of whether the team leader is lying or not or is in the wrong(happens quite a bit). Lies were told about people when the blame was elsewhere, very back stabbing environment. It doesn't help that most new staff are on rubbish...
