    Pros

    Great opportunities to learn the industry and be part of a big change. I like my managers and their vision as well as the company's overall mission.

    Kontras

    Employee tracking (hours and projects) can be counterproductive and take away from your energy and enthusiasm.

    Rat an das Management

    Allow employees in certain positions to get out from the yolk of tracking every minute they spend on certain projects. Focus on outcomes and not inputs. Think of Google who allows their employees to spend at least 25% of their time on projects outside of their division.

    Pros

    Earlier ( wen I say "earlier" it means before the so called merger (Acquisition !!!) and Eclipsys was not a part of Allscripts, most of the employees wer happy due to good work life balance, work from homes, Performance Linked Incentive Plan ( PLIP) and many more employee oriented benefit programs & work culture. These were the Pros and now Cons you can find in the limited box below...

    PLIP part is now being removed and not compensated in any way the CTC :-(. People have lost their money when Company did not perform well in the year 2012 ( no faults of employees of the teams who did well & generated revenue in millions for the company)

    Rat an das Management

    Senior Management should pay well to the experienced & stable resources not to the ones who just are in "good books of their managers". People do not leave this company as there are no Market Players in Healthcare in this part of region (Pune). Avoid favoritism and consider your team member as equal, motivate them instead of micromanaging them OR else you will be digging more holes in the sinking ship.

    Pros

    Comparable salaries to other vendors and if you are used to working 45+ hours a week doing the exact same job forever without caring what's going on elsewhere in the company then this wouldn't be a bad choice.

    Frequently shifting upper level management and objectives; nonexistent advancement opportunities internally....internal is treated the same as outside candidates; bonus structures change on a whim based on stock and missed revenue targets due to poor business management; stock has tanked and still cannot rise; more people leaving than staying.

    Value the internal resources that are working hard for the company to advance and realize that the bottom layers work the hardest and make the least so don't restructure bonus calculations 2 weeks before the end of a quarter. You can change the top of the tree a dozen times but if you never listen to those that feed the tree you will never be successful....constant change is unhealthy.

    Pros

    Good products when matched to the client's needs

    Kontras

    So many personalities with a territorial approach. Watch out for the petty backstabbers in the important and not so important positions. Allscripts management does not know how to integrate acquisitions.

    Get in touch with your customers and remember who really built all the silos in the company. You really need to learn how to manage acquisitions.

    Pros

    - It's a good way to break into the healthcare IT industry since they will hire anyone with a pulse. - Good PTO and benefits. - Some flexibility for working remotely depending on your department/manager.

    Kontras

    - Clients HATE you from the start no matter how competent you might personally be, because they are so used to receiving awful service from Allscripts. - It can be difficult, if not impossible, to find the information you need to do your job. Clients also complain about the difficulty of locating information. Sometimes you get the impression that development is a sort of "man behind the emerald curtain." -... Cronyism is king. A lot of the managers are surprisingly unprofessional in behavior and appearance. - The pay is a joke. Really talented professionals earn salaries on par with day laborers. - The CEO's primary interest is lining his pockets and he doesn't mind destroying the company in the process. - Have fun trying to work with your "colleagues" off-shore. The only training that Allscripts apparently provides to off shore resources is how to refuse responsibility for any work that isn't exactly spelled out in a document somewhere. To be fair, it may be not so much that they are lazy as that they don't understand English well enough to translate requests that are not scripted.

    Rat an das Management

    What's the point? Management is making big money in the short term and will have retired to their yachts and villas by the time the Allscripts house of cards comes tumbling down. They aren't interested in making Allscripts a better place to work - they can undoubtedly buy all the good press they think they need.
