    Pros

Casual office attire and flexibility to work from home

    Kontras

This organization is an absolute cluster and I would not recommend anyone take a job with this company. There is a significant lack of accountability at all levels of the organization. People who don't do their jobs, or do them poorly are rarely held accountable. Turnover is often an excuse for the problems when a new employee picks up someone else's mess. It is very clear that top line revenue and bookings are... the only metric people care about, corners are often cut and processes are circumvented regularly in order to close deals before quarter end. This results in significant exposure to risk down the line that won't be addressed until it causes an actual problem. When things do inevitably break, its 2 years later, the person responsible is either already gone, or their boss is too busy with something else to hold them accountable to fix their mistake and it usually gets dumped on someone else. Lots of emails trying to understand processes or fix issues go unanswered, problems are left to fester, and the few people who do try to make things better do not get cooperation or support from the organizations causing the problems. The lack of controls and accountability almost encourage people to not follow processes because it makes work easier for them, despite causing more work for someone else down the line. New tools and processes are never implemented properly, and become another headache for people to avoid instead of being utilized appropriately to make work easier. Senior leadership is focused solely on M&A activity in an attempt to drive up stock prices. There is no real effort put in to integrating acquisitions in order to leverage that value for clients or shareholders. There are many competing priorities within the company and no clear vision on direction, or where the company is headed. Business units are very siloed, reorganizations happen regularly, and communication is poor. Significant sums of money are wasted regularly because people don't take responsibility for doing their jobs. Literally millions of dollars in gross revenue are lost every year due to poor processes, bad oversight, or simple lack of responsibility. Employees are very obviously the last priority at Allscripts. Senior leadership acts as if quarterly updates to employees are a chore when they actually do host them. Recently the company changed their PTO policy, making employees to accrue their vacation throughout the year, instead of awarding it all in January. While this made folks unhappy, it is an understandable that the company doesn't want to pay employees for vacation time if they quit right after its awarded. However, the company executed this change extremely poorly. Jan 1, 2019 full year PTO hours were awarded to eligible employees. Jan 17, 2019, the company announced the change in the PTO Policy, retroactive to Jan 1. Those hours that had been in employee's PTO banks were removed, and employees were given their Q1 PTO hours to help "adjust to the change." Violating labor laws, Allscripts is refusing to pay employees who quit for those hours that had been awarded and forcing former employees to seek legal action in order to receive the benefits due to them under their employment contract. I would give 0 stars if possible.

    Rat an das Management

There is significant value in the company that is being wasted by inefficient processes, poor oversight into real performance, and incapable employees. Hire one of the big consulting companies to come in and do a makeover. This company is positioned to be an extremely effective disrupter to the health tech market, but the lack of accountability and poor execution at every level keeps sucking up the resources that... would allow the company to really innovate and drive real change in the market. Bring in some folks with some real process improvement tools and put in the effort to build the framework needed to support a $2B+ company. Too many people operate like this is still a startup and anything goes.

Ich habe für mehr als ein Jahr bei Allscripts gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

The majority of my counterparts were dedicated to collaboration and doing what was best for the clients. As a PM this helped me immensely during any challenging projects.

    Kontras

Company had challenges integrating new acquisitions into Allscripts. There were silos between old Eclipsys, dbMotion, others and original Allscripts.

    Rat an das Management

Break down the silos between business units and facilitate deeper discussion programmatically

Ich arbeite seit mehr als einem Jahr bei Allscripts (Vollzeit)

    Pros

    Wide portfolio of solution offerings.

    Kontras

Allscripts has grown via M&A overtime and clearly defined roles and responsibilities are severely lacking. People worked on what their job required and did not understand what anyone else did within the company - even within there extended teams.

Ich habe für mehr als 10 Jahre bei Allscripts gearbeitet (Vollzeit)

    Pros

Lots of good products and people. Lots of benefit options including medical, dental, vision, 401K, HSA, etc. Remote and multiple office locations.

    Kontras

Company continuously switching direction and organizational structure. This leads the entire organization confused on what the priorities are, what the go forward solutions are, and how to lead clients. A lot experienced people continue to either leave or have been let go (poor financials) which has negative impact.

    Rat an das Management

Stop the constant changes of products, vision, strategy. Find executives that know how to be good leaders that can effectively communicate strategy and can support their managers to execute.

Ich arbeite seit mehr als 5 Jahren bei Allscripts (Vollzeit)

    Pros

    * Benefits seem to be good compared to other companies * Most people working here are good to work with and reasonable * Solution breadth that allows lateral moves to work on other product lines

    Kontras

    * Most people in management are Managers, not Leaders * Organization changes structure too often (every 6 months it seems) * Strategy is not clearly set or defined for team members, leading to confusion and frustration

    Rat an das Management

Weekly or bi-weekly meetings to discuss how we are doing, and how our work relates to the overall company strategic goals
