    My former Team Lead knew what he was doing. He valued hard work and rewarded the ones who deserved it.

    My Allianz Care journey (short version):

    - My first Team Lead didn't appreciate work. He even put me on the performance improvement plan without any valid reason. The reason actually was that he simply couldn't get along with me
    - My second Team Lead was one of the best Team Leads that I had in my career (I am not talking only about Allianz Care but in general). He valued my hard work, took me off the PIP (performance improvement plan) and promoted me shortly after. The first time since my staying I felt appreciated in this company. Unfortunately I got a new Team Lead and that's why I gave a 1 star rating
    - My current Team Lead has a complete different approach towards work. Instead of rewarding hardworking employees he values more the "positive ones" who "try to create a nice working environment" instead of taking care of the productivity. I didn't apply to work in a primary school and don't understand why we need to put so much effort into celebrating Birthdays, Christmas etc. Worse of all is that the organisation of these kind of events seem to be more important than processing claims. Isn't this why we are here?! To process claims!

    Hire Team Leads who care about customers and productivity and not about making a joke of our department. Do we really need to come with funny Christmas jumpers into the office and pretend that we are all the huge family?
    There are plenty other companies out there who are doing these kind of things. I applied for the claims department as I was told that it's an quiet department.

    Hostile environment, lots of bullying going on. However this is not in every department, just in some of them.

    I have done an interview for the French claims officer , I made the English test and all the interview on phone 2 to 3 times , I have told that I will have an answer in December and then later on in January, I sent emails to know about an update ( the job was in Dublin) and I’m really upset about the company and if you c ant continue at least you should rest the other party and answer them ... I will never recommend anyone applying to work with Allianz Dublin ( Ireland)

    Pros

    Good name on the CV. The company pays for the APA and even CIP exam. You get a raise the first 5 years of your staying. Contribution for the leap card and for the gym opposite the company.

    As a Team Lead I always felt like I couldn't properly take care of my own team. At the end of each year who have to rate your team members. Unfortunately in Allianz Care you have to choose one team member who "stands out". The other NEED TO BE RATED as average and get "fully meet".
    We Team Leads asked several times to change this way of rating as it's demotivating for the whole team and for team leads it's even a harder decision whom to choose for the EXCEED rating. December is the month were these ratings are given and I am just thankful that this year I don't need to make this decision.
    With the promotions it's the same. I had great team members in my team but due to the company's budget I wasn't able to promote everyone who deserved it.
    During 1 to 1s I was listening to complains from my team members and felt (as my title is called) helpless. As a team lead you are between your team and the company's reputation. You need to be careful what you are saying. My team members were complaining that we don't have much foreigners in management positions and what should I tell them? It's simple mathematics. You can count foreign management on one hand.

    I spent a few years in Allianz Care. I enjoyed really great moments. I don't regret anything. But there are just too many things that need to change. HR is doing some changes. They are trying to improve the working environment. But it's going too slow.

    Don't forget that Dublin offers many great opportunities. Try to keep the good employees in the company. There is no point to let them leave and to hire new ones.

    End of year review needs to change! Do it properly or not at all!
    Make it clear what a person needs to do to get promoted.
    Better communication and relationship between management and entry level.
    Promotions need to go faster. I tried to promoted employees who were 2-3 years in the company but I was told that due to the companies budget I can not promote that high amount of people.

    Pros

    Multiple benefits for working in Policy Management. As the saying goes with most things, the more you put in the more you will get out of it. The company offers contributions to private health, motor, home insurance. Support with insurance qualification with cpd. Onsite visits ie banking, dentist, massage etc

    My experience of policy management dpt has been very positive from day one with full training and a buddy system provided. The working day can be challenging as most days theres a heavy workload and at times there are many complex cases to get through but everyone on the team pulls together and is always supported when they do speak up where help is needed and rewards are felt at then end of the day for getting the job done. If I ever have an issue I have to raise, following the provided channels I have always felt listened to, be it by seniors, specialists, even trainers, and particularly the management team who are very approachable and welcome feedback of allsorts. There is a shadowing initiative for entry level upto manager level so you can see other departments. Im surprised to read some of the nagative comments here and if I ever got to that stage Id move along and explore jobs elsewhere. Its pity people feel the need to stay in a job they are unhappy with and try to bring down the morale of their colleagues on this site simply because they have been in the job for too long and feel their hands are tied where they are not.

    Keep pushing for better systems. Too much time is dedicated to simple tasks. Listen and find ways to be more proactive in looking for feedback

    There are always some strange things going on in the company. So you'll always have funny stories to tell your friends and family. All my friends were laughing as I told them that my former manager organized her own goodbye party in the company contributed by the companies budget.

    Foreigners are treated different than Irish people. Some Irish managers only talk with Irish Claims Officers and won't even greet foreigners in the kitchen or on the floor
    There is not much to learn as you don't do almost anything we were thought during the training. Due to the backlog that seems never to disappear we process claims completely different than initially thought. Basically, we ignore all rules and what's written in the manual and do whatever just to clear the queue.
    Quality doesn't seem to be important at all.
    People are all the time on sick leave.
    Management is gossiping everyone in the company behind their backs.

    None! New Hires are getting more money than I do. Should I appreciate that?!

    I told my supervisor that I am getting bullied by the Senior of our team. The reply that I got was to move to another team within the same department. I don't want to go to HR - my own supervisor didn't want to help me, so why should I believe that HR would be different.

    I won't comment the positive reviews on Glassdoor. Everyone should make their own picture of what is going on in this company.

    We are told that we need to stay on the same position for at least 1 1/2 years till we can apply for another department. It's clear that the same rule doesn't apply for everyone. There is a particular women in this company who had 3 different position in the same calendar year. I never saw her doing anything else except drinking her protein drinks, gossiping about others and writing What's Up messages to her best friend who was also working at Allianz Care but in another department.

    Let me finish my review with one of my favorite quotes: Leaders who don't listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say.

    Stop reporting posts on Glassdoor. There are other social media where we can express our dissatisfaction about the company but then we will also name the bullies of Allianz Care.
