    New York office:
    - positive, fun place to work
    - good benefits
    - employees are great people
    - HR team
    - access to promotional offers for students

    (Overall, I did enjoy my time with the company)


    - Layoffs:
    The New York office grew from ~20 employees to ~70 employees within a year, then 24 employees were laid off in October 2018 (along with many in the UK, a total of about 100 employees). Many of those laid-off were quite new to the company, as many people were being hired throughout the summer.

    The senior management team had been updating the employees with the new strategy throughout the summer/early fall; it seemed that UNiDAYS would be growing more in the states. Then in October, there was a company-wide video meeting, where we were informed that 1/3 of the company would be laid off. Definitely came as a surprise to most.

    Managers then met with HR and senior management to be informed which employees would be let go that day. The rest of the employees had to continue their day, waiting to receive a google calendar notification to meet with HR and their manager. Did they really expect people to work until they found out if they were being laid off that day? Employees were left waiting for ~1-3 hours to find out.

    (Sidenote- a review on September 6th revealed that mass redundancies would be occurring..why were people being hired throughout August then?)

    Was disappointed to not hear from any employees from my team in the UK, including my boss, after the layoff (layoffs were not performance based). Disconnected from gmail/slack immediately, so no time for anyone to reach out if they wanted to anyway.

    - The company doesn't actually know enough about Gen Z...they don't even know how to market to them because their data is a mess.

    - CEO is nice but doesn't have any experience.. so he doesn't know what he's doing.

    - UNiDAYS has potential to be something great, but there isn't much value in its current offerings
