    Positive Erfahrung
    Leichtes Gespräch

Ich habe mich persönlich beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 6 Tage. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Dezember 2014 bei U.S. Security Associates.

I was told by a friend who worked for the company to go and apply and request to be placed at a certain site. I went and applied at the main office (you cannot apply online) on Monday. Within three hours I received a phone call and scheduled an interview for the next day, Tuesday. I met my future supervisor at about 9:00 AM on Tuesday and we went to his office where he asked me normal questions of "What made you want to work here?" "Do you feel you would be able to do this, this, and this?" "What qualifies you for this job?" And he was very approachable.

I told him I had vacations for early January (I would be with the company for 37 days when this vacation happened) and he said that won't be an issue and thanked me for my honesty.

He asked general questions about my CV and complimented my unique background (I do entertainment artist management on the side) and he offered me a job. I accepted, again this was on Tuesday.

I was scheduled for [unpaid] orientation/drug testing/finger printing/uniforms on Thursday. I can see where people would find this boring and wasteful since it was about 9 1/2 hours, unpaid, but security is interesting to me for some reason. The orientation was done via a meeting room web seminar with multiple sites around the country. What boredom came from the security sections covered was augmented with funny banter from the trainers.

I called my supervisor after the orientation and he scheduled me to training on Saturday and Sunday, which was paid, albeit at minimum wage.

So from application to first day on the job was exactly 6 days. Incredibly efficient.

USSA has a contract with the site(s) I work at and the hourly wage ($9.50/hour) was based on that contract. There was no negotiation, but he was very upfront about pay during the interview.
