    Pros

    On-site fitness center and wellness center
    Very community oriented organization--they sponsor a lot of local events and have many ties to the community
    Strong history with good products that really solve healthcare problems
    Sales training process is very strong
    Good benefits--including better paternal leave benefits
    Vince Foglia (company founder) left an extremely strong legacy

    Kontras

    Sage Products was acquired by Stryker Medical in 2016 and many of its great qualities were starting to disintegrate as time went on.
    Location is far out from the Chicago market, so attracting/retaining top talent is challenging
    Salaries are below average
    Company was very hesitant to allow remote working options during tenure (only a few exceptions)
    High-level turnover since the acquisition by Stryker
    Develop people to perform a role well but do not offer opportunities to grow (limited within Sage)
    Suffered a recall in late 2017 that took time to recover from
    Their interview process can be extremely lengthy (phone interview, 3 on-site "interviews"). I understand why they do it, but it can be extremely intimidating at times.

    Rat an das Management

    Sales support requires a greater investment--don't expect those groups to make chicken salad out of chicken you-know-what. Their technology was still stuck in the early 2000s--put forth the capital to upgrade these things and allow your sales team an even stronger asset in the process.

    Ich habe mich über einen Personalvermittler beworben. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Mai 2017 bei Sage Products (Cary, IL (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)).

    Vorstellungsgespräch

    I will start with the warning before describing the interview. - I interviewed with the NPD team. Less than two weeks after my second interview, someone from this team communicated to my current employer that I had interviewed there. So, my boss and bosses' boss are now aware of this. It's been 3 weeks since my boss sat me down and asked me about this so time will tell what happens at my current job. This is a clear violation of professional courtesy and puts into question the ethics of this team and/or company. May the interviewee beware...

    Straight forward panel style interview with mostly behavioral based questions. Multiple stages starting with a phone screen with HR, then a panel style interview with the working team, and finally an open discussion/meet and greet with the hiring manager and management team.

    The interview went well and everyone was professional and engaging (to this point). Communication was good with HR though the process took several weeks. This is understandable given that many members of the team had/have busy travel schedules. Did not get the offer, but did appreciate the effort from HR to call and personally convey the message with feedback on the interview.

    I was very positive with Sage even though I didn't get the offer UNTIL word got back to my current employer that I interviewed there. Very disappointing.
