Company believes in work-life balance - there's generous leave, you can work from home if needed, and they're okay with you leaving early to take care of personal or family medical issues. Medical and dental packages are more than adequate.

Lack of communication sometimes between managers and direct reports, and between the company's main and satellite offices.

Keep the lines of communication open and you're golden!

    Leichtes Gespräch

Ich habe mich auf anderem Weg beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 2 Wochen. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Dezember 2013 bei Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) (Gaithersburg, MD (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)).

They were looking to onboard talent ranging from junior level to senior -- more like a routine sweep of the talent pool than trying to fill a vacancy.

The interview process didn't really have a lot of structure. They asked random questions and for an explanation of what I did in the past. I am not really sure they knew what they wanted. Just someone to wow them. They also asked what my spirit animal was.

My background in supporting a real time data exchange which was infrastructure critical seemed to interest them but I felt they were looking for people that could help them develop mobile applications to help push sales into an under developed part of their market. They weren't looking for technical, capable people. They were looking for talent to develop their department here and now with no training.

They also asked me to come in the day before Xmas Eve which was annoying and screwed up my travel plans. The only reason I am marking these negative is because of the poor scheduling despite me stating it wasn't a good day for me. It would of been nice to meet people I might of worked with as well. If you are going to work somewhere for 5+ years it would be nice to know how well you get along with team mates.
