    Ich arbeite in Vollzeit bei Fyber (Über 3 Jahre)

    Pros

    Interesting challenges, high-load, large scale - very interesting and a nice opportunity to learn and improve things without bureaucracy that typically follows projects of this size.

    To be honest, at the end of 2017 I was sure I am going to leave soon but, without going too much into details, the new management began to understand and fix mistakes they made in the beginning and I am happy I didn't accept any offers back then.

    Of course it's not comparable to what Fyber used to be 2-3 years ago - we lost a lot of people, but the atmosphere here is improving and all fresh, smart people who join the company now, give it another chance to re-build the "right" culture.

    It hurts to say this, because during the last year I lost many smart and experienced colleagues due to layoffs and the "natural" turnover that followed, but only now can I look back and admit that we also had too many people!

    We were becoming very bureaucratic and process-freaks because every different opinion about code or a tool or the process itself created infinite delays, required even more meetings to agree on, etc.

    Now, at least in the technology, we move much faster, still without oppressing individual opinions and still being inclusive. That's why we hire now very carefully to have only pragmatic people who are capable of good communication and are opened to compromising.

    It's still a bit chaotic when it comes to understanding the bigger picture and roadmap and communication between offices could be better but to be fair there are visible improvements in that direction, although not as fast as I would expect it to be.

    The interview process started with a phone screen and then I was invited to come in for an in-person interview with the team. After that I had two more phone interviews with remote employees. It was good to meet the team I'd be directly be working with, and I felt they were really looking for the right candidate based on experience and culture. They were able to work with my schedule and were mindful of my time (aka no day-long interviews) which is always very appreciated when looking for jobs. Overall, it was a positive process!
