    Ich habe in Teilzeit bei Eishtec gearbeitet (mehr als ein Jahr)


    The people you work with are very down-to-earth and are the only reason that the job can be anyway bearable for extended periods of time.

    There are no other pros to working at Éishtec.


    Where to start:

    Éishtec is not a nice place to work. It is a place for someone to work if they are in desperate need of the money and have no other avenues of employment. It is NOT somewhere to realistically climb the ladder and further your career.

    Firstly, all departments have extremely high and rising targets. I saw my daily targets rise almost 100% from when I started to when I finished working there. You will not be congratulated or rewarded for hitting your targets but be assured you will be berated if you miss them even by seconds. You can hit your targets for months on end, but if you aren't a Team Leader favorite you could see yourself on an extremely intrusive "performance plan" by missing a target once. A performance plan details having another Team Leader or supervisor sit with you for entire shifts just to watch your every move and listen to every word.

    As an agent working on the phones at Éishtec, you will be promised the world and delivered nothing. From my first day of training I was told I could receive extra pay by transferring enough people and have them purchase additional contracts. Despite hitting the target multiple times I was never given a cent in commission. Then, other managers and Team Leaders started hiding this statistic from you so they ultimately decided whether you hit your target or not, there was no way to check.

    Despite their advertising, they do not wish to "work with their agents". Your shifts can change at less than 24 hours notice. You can and will have requests for holidays months in advance rejected because more favorable employees get their Team Leader to override your request, yet there is nothing you can do about this. Full-time agents will ALWAYS get preference over part-time agents, even up to the point where you cannot take time off as a part-time agent because every weekend has been booked off by a full-time employee.

    Favoritism is what rules the company. If you aren't the Team Leader's favorite agent you will not receive niceties such as time off the phone, coaching sessions, one to one meetings, chances to move up the corporate ladder and so on. Favorited agents do not have their statistics and targets as thoroughly investigated as other agents do and you can be sure that the favorites on the team will have their time off and shift changes approved over others.

    Oh, and you will only have 10 minutes a day to go to the bathroom, which is monitored to the second, just like every other thing you do while at work, whether that's Team Leaders or management remotely listening to your calls, to people looking over your shoulder as you talk to a customer and so on.

    Rat an das Management

    My advice to management is this; Relax your targets because they are borderline unrealistic. Maybe, if you didn't hire anyone who can form coherent sentences and wear a suit to an interview you would have quality agents who are good at their job rather than the current agents who pawn off problems on others and cause more issues than they solve.

    Get rid of problematic Team Leaders and promote people to the role who deserve the position from within an already established team. Rampant favoritism coupled with huge targets cause employees to simply try and game the system rather than strive towards working hard. It's a vicious circle.

    People will appreciate being looked after in their career more than they will a cheap bottle of wine for hitting a target.
