Ich habe in Vollzeit bei CGI Communications gearbeitet (Über 3 Jahre)

    Pros

I left CGI to pursue another opportunity for personal reasons. It was maybe the hardest decision I made in life to date. I started as a sales associate and moved up to executive after 8 months. CGI teaches you everything and demands only the best (which is how it should be). The management team is top notch and they are all extremely approachable. Being an employee here will mold you into the best you can be. CGI does bring out the best in you, but only if you want it. Sales demands discipline, effort, and patience. Do not join CGI because you think the culture looks fun. Join CGI to develop yourself long term! There is not a single bad thing about this company. You become a part of a family and you will learn everything you will need to know for a career in sales. Without CGI I would not be who I am today.

    Valuable pros:
    - if you’re an executive, travel is a perk
    - associates and executives get insight on every state in America, how the people are, the cultures, etc.
    - access to management and employees who know their stuff

    Kontras

Advertising sales is demanding, fast paced, and its not easy. If you’re looking for an easy career you shouldn’t pick sales. If you’re not making more dials than the rest of the associates you will certainly fall behind in the skill set you need to become of value. If you join CGI, try to become a person of value to the company then you will reap the most rewards from the experience. Make sure to ask good questions in the interviews and research advertising sales before joining the company. Although the classification of sales at CGI is advertising, the community partnerships are a significant differentiator. The partnerships do make the job easier but it still takes hard work and determination. Lastly, if you do think you’re cut out for sales and advertising - I urge you to join CGI. Because of the partnerships, the opportunity is better than any other in the same industry throughout the United States.

    Thanks for everything CGI!

    Web Designer-Vorstellungsgespräch

    Bewerbung

Ich habe mich online beworben. Der Vorgang dauerte 5 Tage. Vorstellungsgespräch absolviert im Februar 2018 bei CGI Communications (Rochester, NY (Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika)).

    Vorstellungsgespräch

They were hiring 5 designers for their Web Design position. I came in for an interview with the two creative directors, but it ended up only being one. Just a typical get-to-know-you interview, get a feel for me as a person, me getting a feel for the position, company, and office. Reviewed some work on my portfolio but that wasn't too extensive as we were running out of time. She showed some examples of web work they do for their clients and the process they use for that.

I was contacted for a second interview scheduled for the next week. Interview 1:1 with the other director in the same format, just faster and a little different, and then did a 30 minute practical "test" they'd never done before. I met with one of their designers who took me through their WordPress (they only "design" in WP) and had me take 30 minutes with a real client brief, copy, and assets to see what I could do. I obviously didn't get super far and it didn't look great in 30 minutes, but it wasn't a big deal.

Had a short recap with the two CD's and the staff designer and they said I'd hear back the next week. I got a phone call and an offer letter via email the next day, and had to respond within two days.

    Fragen im Vorstellungsgespräch

    • They put 5 words on a whiteboard and asked how I'd rank them from 1-5 for what was most important to me and why. Some of them were: salary, job title, work/life balance, etc   Frage beantworten
